What on earth is going on with USPS?? I sent a package to a buyer 6 weeks ago!!

I sent a parcel 6 weeks ago as Registered Mail from Portugal (CTT Postal service) to Portland, OR. Tracking number RT106731584PT it still has not arrived, that's just so wrong!

I already started a "missing mail search request" with USPS 2 weeks ago, no update there yet.

I paid extra for this package but it never arrived at its destination yet. Weirdly, a few days later, I sent other packages to this same address with Regular Tracked Mail and it got there already, no problem.

Can someone PLEASE help me track down this package, this is totally unacceptable for the buyer!! Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Have you contacted the seller? Could it be because they shipped to the wrong address?

The OP is the seller.

@art_young_collection  Has your buyer contacted you about this?  if so you may need to just refund and then try to track with USPS so the buyer does not have to open a case.

Yes I have contacted the buyer many times to tell him that I am in the process of looking for it and doing everything i can.

He also contacted me a few times asking about it. He seems to be losing patience though.

No, 100 percent not shipped to the wrong address I have the waybill given to me by my local post office, it has all the correct info.

Packages do get lost for real from time to time.  I had a package of three posters go missing about ten years ago and were never found.  I had bought items from the same seller before and after with no problem.

But slightly off topic just tonight saw in tracking a note from USPS at 7:30 PM 'attempted delivery, no access'.  Obviously an alternate back at the PO accounting for the package they forgot to put in my mailbox which is RIGHT on the road.  Being rural has its good side but not where the mail is concerned.

Because of the way Registered mail is handled it will ALWAYS take significantly longer than regular mail.

It must be the last package on the vehicle and the first one off. At every stop it has to be placed under lock and key and it must be signed off by everyone who handles it. It is not just tossed into the moving stream.

Six weeks does seem to be a bit long. BUT precisely because of the way it is handled you should be able to locate its exact location at any moment. Have you accessed the Portuguese postal web site and entered the tracking number?

I have tried tracking it with the Portuguese Postal system, this is what I get:

It  sounds like the problem is with the Portugal CCT postal service, no the US postal system.

     You may want to actually open a claim case with USPS these seem to get addressed quicker since USPS has money on the line. If you wait too long your ability to file a lost package claim will expire. Following is the timeline for filing based on the type of package you sent.
