Such a mess with USPS these days on delays and "lost" packages that I have not seen in all my years of selling. My current situation and question,
A buyer has opened 2 INR's (2 orders I combined and upgraded to USPS priority at my expense due to the recent slowdowns)
I uploaded the tracking on the INR, and also included the package research case with the case #. I also messaged the buyer within the case to let them know I am keeping on it and will update them on any updates from the USPS. The INR was just opened on March 18th PM.
It states on the INR (please resolve this request by March 21, 2025)
My question is, how do you get extended time to allow the package to be found and moved along? The buyer is not requesting a refund at this point, but how do I extend the timeline?
Buyer paid 3/9
shipped on 3/10
normal scans til it hit Memphis Tn. then just the "auto bot scans at midnight" last actual scan was March 12th.

If there's recent tracking updates, Ebay might put the case on hold a few days.

Thank you for the reply.
Worse case scenario, if I get no new updated tracking do I refund on the 21st? When can the buyer ask eBay to step in? is it exactly 3 days from the opening of the INR request which would be on the 22nd?

Ebay will make that decision .... usually if they see current or recent movement.

from my experience those recurring 12:00 AM scans without a location mean that the item is never getting delivered.
Just curious, what size package was it? The ones of mine that they have been "loosing" have been larger. packages. All my bubble mailer stuff makes it fine

I combined an order, would have been the normal 7x4x1 padded envelopes via ground advantage, but I upgraded to USPS priority using their small flat rate box since I have had so many delays in the last few months and 2 refunded which I did get a check from USPS eventually.
yes, the auto "12:00" scans tell you nothing, but I have had a few packages get to their destination after having those auto scans.
Usually after the 3rd or 4th "12:00" bot scan, tracking usually stops. I have even called Postmasters in other states following up on USPS Package research cases, and they did not paint a pretty picture of the problems of the backlogs, especially at Kansas city distribution center, Des Moines Iowa, and lately Indianapolis.
