What if eBay's USPS postage is not sufficient?

I just sold an item and purchased eBay's recommended USPS postage for $8.00.  But what happens if when I take my package to the post office, it is not sufficient (e.g. because the package weighs more than expected, the box is larger than estimated, etc.) ?  Can I purchase more postage while retaining the same tracking?

Priority boxes require that proper Priority Mail postage be affixed to the box.    You cannot put a first class printed label on a Priority Box.

Yeah I can usually just walk to the front of the line and dump them on the counter at an unused window.

Do watch out though. The local OfficeMax tried to charge me $3.50 for a USPS box.  I had to call a manager over before they would take the charge off the bill.  Of course they said that they charged EVERYBODY for boxes.  But I also pointed out that they were free from teh PO and that THEY hadnt paid the PO for them either.  The employees got real quiet after that.

Whenever you print your postage label...there is an option right before you print to NOT show the postage cost on the label.

The local Office Max should be turned into the USPS.  Report them to the nearest Postal facility.  The boxes are free..they cannot charge you for them.   Have the heard of Federal Offense punishable by a fine?
