I would promote and advertise the site as THE leader in vintage, antique, unique and rare items and add, "Oh, by the way, we sell new stuff too!"

Rename it "Amazon Lite"
That and scrub all of my negatives and defects. Not my neutrals though, because they don't hurt my seller percentage and it's tough finding a CS rep to agree to do it for me.

I would immediately REVERSE the recent Good Till Cancelled policy change and return to the previous policy of:
Giving sellers the flexibility of using 5, 7, 10, and 30 day durations on Fixed Price Listings .... and have NO automatic renewal of those listings after they expire.

100% agree. Years ago I would have split the sites.
Kept ebay the way it was - if it exists you can find it on ebay. Loved searching for that diamond in the rough.

I'd get rid of that godawful music when they put you on hold.

I would:

I would give Sellers the option to permanently OPT OUT of Managed Payments and stay with PayPal if they want.

I agree. They could give sellers the choice of their payment processor. Sadly, ebay has become all about "how can we MONETIZE this?". And they're doing it with everything they can think of, since the marketplace is failing and they appear to want to help that process along. Or maybe they are just starving us small sellers out instead of just kicking us off and creating a media/social media frenzy.

But if I owned ebay, the first thing I would do is fire the entire upper management team. Then I would hire people from this board to run ebay. It's really not that complicated, like the Bain heads seem to think. You show sellers' listings when people search for them, then collect the fees when something sells.
When ebay started to get run by Wall St. executives... well they have a different mission than we do. I just don't understand what they think eBay's future is while letting the marketplace fail.

@hioctane62 While I don't think it was intentional they have succeeded in killing off a lot of good Selling accounts and nobody at Home Office knows how to fix it. Online selling is a HUGE industry and keeps growing and they need to retain every single Seller they have and add new ones for growth ... but there is lots of competition out there. What they simply can not see right now is a new online Venue with a catchy name AND more Buyer and Seller friendly ... its coming down the road and I think a lot sooner then they think possible ...
While it hasn't happened yet it will ...
Online and B&M business people need to diversify their activities just like having diverse categories to sell in on eBay.
The idea to give away 2 trucks (one to a Seller and one to a Buyer each year) is not out of the realm of possibilities if someone there would listen ... the $ 60K to $ 80 they would spend would be a drop in the bucket for them ... and a very small drop at that but it would really get people's attention.

I would run eBay as a site and let sellers sell with NO INPUT, but help them get things they need. I would remove bad sellers and buyers promptly and I would bring back date ranges for BINS, even though I'm getting used to the new way.

@hioctane62 I would have Auction listings end with a soft close, meaning any bids in the last 30 seconds or so would add time to the Auction so prices could reach their max potential ... sort of like a real auction OR just like other online auctions are run.
