Hello,
I would like to know what happens if item got lost?
Do I need to refund buyer and will I get any money coverage from Paypal/eBay?
I mean,if I refund buyer and item got lost, should I have some rights too?
I'm new seller so I don't have experience with items that may get lost.
Kind regards

Yes, if your buyer did not get the item they paid for, they are entitled to a refund. If they open a case, and you dont respond, Ebay will force the refund and you will get a defect. A few of those, and your career of selling here will be finished.

Ebay and PP are not responsible if the Usps lost the pkg. Refund your buyer, and if you insured the pkg file for the insurance.

The seller is responsible for getting the item to the buyer. The seller is required to refund if the package does not arrive. Also, the seller is given a defect for not completing the transaction. That said, don't jump too fast if the buyer claims he has not received the item. Because of the pandemic, the delivery services are overwhelmed and are taking longer than usual to get boxes to their destinations. Ask your buyer to wait for a while longer, and if the buyer opens a case against you, enter the tracking information. eBay is giving extra time for the package to be delivered. However, not forever.

Just one more question.
What if it got impound by customs,is the procedure the same?
Kind regards
You are responsible for making sure your item is permitted to be sold. Some countries probably restrict that item--if the knife is the problem.

Here on e bay you will need to refund the buyer yourself . I've had to do this a few times myself when the postal service loses a package. A few weeks ago I shipped a box of handmade jewelry to a buyer in Oregon . Tracking showed delivery by April 29th . However the post office in Roseburg Or . misplaced the box.
I've been in contact with them since then but they still can't locate it. The ONLY positive thing about this transaction is I had sold these items on another selling site that I also use . That site not only covers the buyer but also the seller up to 200 dollars if the post office loses the package granted the seller used their prepaid shipping label . I'm sorry this has happened to you . It just seems to me if a seller has done everything right in shipping a package on time and providing a tracking number but the post office is to blame for losing it then there should be some sort of protection for the seller . If a package has a tracking number and the USPS shows it is lost "in transit" and you refund the buyer without a case being opened, do you still get a defect on eBay? Just curious because I thought that was not the case. I've had this happen twice in the last couple of months so should I be worried?

No ,, I would think you wouldn't get a defect if you refunded the buyer . The postal services can sometimes create a lot of expensive problems for sellers . I think e bay should take this into account . Other selling platforms certainly have . Tulips
