Keen to get my Lego Titanic set. I bought it on Saturday, and it still hasn’t shipped. I was curious as to the handling time on the item, but it isn’t shown. Maybe it is for the best - but it is a little annoying. Estimated delivery is on Oct 12, so I trust that the seller will get it out on time and use something fast to get it to me 🙂

I'm still seeing handling time on the shipping & payments tab of every listing.
Oct 12 is a week away so the seller could be within their handling time still, though I do see a boxed set sold Oct 1 with economy shipping that had 1 business day handling time.
Still, that doesn't mean the seller hasn't shipped yet, could be that they didn't upload tracking yet for some reason.

I just checked ten random listings, selected the shipping & payments , and all that is displayed to me is "estimated delivery date" just like on the front listing page. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place? I am using a computer, not an app. Please advise.

Estimated delivery is just an estimate. Keep in mind that Ebay is notorious for being way off on the shipping time on East to West coast deals. If your item is first class mail or parcel select , it will ONLY travel by truck. I don't know where you live or where the seller lives but keep in mind that some areas have been hit hard by the weather. If you live in Alaska, Hawaii and any of the US territories, shipping is usually much, much longer. Be patient. Hopefully you get it soon.

That is not accurate (for 1st Class);
1st Class travels in Planes and many times gets to the West Coast to East Coast (FL or NY) in the same 3 days as Priority.

Your item delivers in 11 days.
Your listing should show the type of shipping. Economy, Standard, Expedited or One Day. You can figure their handling time by the shipping method.
For example Economy USPS Ground takes 2-5 days plus the seller's handling time. (It used to be 2-8 days for USPS ground but the PO now says ground is only 2-5 days. 11 days delivery means the seller's handling time could be as long as 6 days.

I know you're experienced here, and not trying to start an argument here. Guess I'm weird. I never look at handling time when making a purchase and I barely pay attention to the estimated delivery date. Maybe a few days after I make my purchase, I check the EDD. You can't really do anything useful until that date has passed by at least a day any way. I am never in a hurry.

I see handling time on every listing that I checked. eBay did remove it for a while, but reinstated it, possibly due to either popular demand or too many calls to customer service.

Yes, I do. However, before I saw your post I picked another random listing (204105255526) and what I see is the same on Chrome AND Firefox. The section in question is not there. Maybe the sellers I have been looking at don't put in a handling time?

Handling time is a required field, but I think I figured out the issue @ittybitnot. It's displaying on fixed price listings, but not auction format.

Maybe that's the key...? In any event, I can agree that the listing above does not show a Handling time; the entire section, with heading, is simply not there. I looked at a few other listings at random for that seller and did not find a Handling time section on any of them. I then went back to listings of my own, and mine are showing the Handling time as expected.
I didn't think you could get a listing uploaded without a Handling time (among other things); I thought it was required. Maybe some older template without a Handling value got grandfathered in?

@wastingtime101
That could explain it..... thank you for your help! I suppose we can still surmise that the Handling Time is shown "sometimes" under the shipping tab, but it was removed from the front page of the listing in all cases in favor of just the EDDs/

I think you're right. I looked at more of my own listings, and my straight auctions do not show a Handling time entry, unless it's an auction with no bids and a BuyItNow option, in which case the Handling time is specified. My own auction/BIN listing 234714520265 is one such example.
My Fixed Price listings are showing a Handling time; my auctions with bids (and thus no BIN price) do not.
