When I go into my unsold items to relist something, this symbol is at the end of several of the sentences in the description. Can anyone tell me what it is, why it is there and how to stop it. Thanks for any help.

Actually,   stands for a non-breaking space, so it prevents the line from breaking at that point. Except that, if it is displaying in your description when you are not viewing the html code, then it is not actually functional as a non-breaking space.
You can replace it with an ordinary space, and it should work just fine.

It is some HTML code that somehow ends up in the text, pretty common
