What can I do?

Hello

first, sorry for my not too good english. In 2015 I blacklisted a buyer, because he permanently asked my personal informations (my address, phone number, etc). Two days ago he asked me to unblock, because he want to buy some items for me. I denied. After this he registrated a new account with his name, and start to bid... I do not want to sell anything to him, what can I do? I want to report thus user, but I don't know how to do it...

Thank you

Joseph

All you can do is block the new ID.  How do you know it is the same person?

Also, any bidder or buyer can get your contact information and keep it, just as you can get theirs.

A seller can block a potential bidder from bidding on their listings for ANY reason, but WHY would this individual request your personal information [of any kind] previous of any purchase?  I certainly understand your pro-active stance.   This reminds me of the good old days, when ebay would automatically update one's BB list, to reflect a fresh identity, of anyone on it. One could also check out a bidder's previous member name history...<sigh>..That was so nice.  Anyway, there is really nothing you can do, other than check out a bidder's location (coincidence vs. fact), and cancel their bid.  You would have to do a "member search" for this, as this information is no longer shown on feed-back page. And, of course, for *buy it now* listings, it would be less helpful.

Oh, my...  I had forgotten all about that.  Ebay has digressed, so horribly...  But it really did use to be a great place, didn't it....Smiley Sad

AFAIK they have never updated the BBL to add new ids for the same people. They have updated when people change their id name. However I believe Ebay is still doing this, no?

@stancili11,

As the others have said, it is hard these days to identify a blocked buyer if they open a completely new account.  Your blocked buyer may be using a friend's or family member's account to get around being blocked, which is illegal on ebay, but hard to prove.

If you feel certain the person bidding on your items is the same one you blocked. Cancel their bids, then add the new Name or user ID to your blocked buyer list.  Use the link below to cancel the member's bid(s) there are other linnks in the one below highlighted in blue, that will show you how to cancel bids.

Once you have done that click> on the Resolution Center button at the bottom of the page. When the page opens, there is a HELP box on the right, and the last topic is Report a problem with a buyer, > on it.  Fill in the info about the item they bid on, and continue if your problem is not shown, you should get a phone number for customer service.  There may also be a place to write down what has happened.  The report you want to make is a violation of the Unwelcome and malicious buying policy. Say the blocked member is using another ID to bid on your items.

Good Luck

@stancili11  It is against eBay Policy for either Buyer or Seller to use or create an alternate ID to get around a block or account restriction.  The Buyer should be reported to eBay's Trust and Safety Department with a phone call.  Sorry you are being harrassed by that Buyer.

When you call that department have the old and new ID ready to give them ... they will not be able to share certain info with you but if the Buyer has indeed created a new account they will know.

You can use the Advanced Search for both IDs and that should at least tell you (here in the US) City & State of the Buyer IDs ...

That policy may as well not even be on the site anymore because eBay made it clear that it's no longer policy. Their reasoning is that they don't know the buyers intent. There is a thread about it on the selling board and eBay refused to remove a negative feedback after ge blocked buyer used another ID to buy the item. The official response given on that thread was that it's not a violation because the buyers intent was unknown.
