I finally figured out my issue with my selling account but no thanks to eBay. You know it is bad when talking to eBay gives a person a nose bleed. Please do better eBay.

Have been on eBay quite a few years and have never had any reason to contact CS, so can't comment on their training and/or experience.
I do know, however, that by reading the MBG, the eBay rules for buyers and sellers and, finally, this Board, I have been able to get my questions answered correctly and quickly.
My recommendation: Ask your question here first. We have no access to your account information, but, other than that, our answers are usually pretty much spot on.

Every single call I have ever done for customer support has been excellent in nearly 20 years of doing business here. It all depends I guess on what your expectations are and what you want to hear.

I don't think that customers service at Ebay is any different than at any other corporation. Sometimes you get good people and sometimes you get bad people. This is not exactly a high paying job so one should not be surprised that not all CS agents are competent. If you get a bad one just spin the wheel and try again.

Here is your answer.
Good phone people: $20/hour
Average phone people: $15/hour
Bad phone people: $10/hour

You have been lucky.
When it comes to the overseas call center in the Philippines, I've had to call them with complex issues. You can't even get the to UNDERSTAND the problem let alone FIX the problem.

I've had good luck with reps......both here and overseas......
To me, it's just like anything else.......there are good employees who can answer almost anything and there are not so good ones that just read a script.......and those that don't know squat----true of any business......

What are eBay phone people so bad?
Fielding customer complaints for 8 hours a day is **bleep** job, and most people don't last long enough to get good at it. According to Glassdoor, an entry level eBay customer support rep providing for a family of 4 would be hovering right around the national poverty line.
I have called eBay support perhaps 5 times in 20 years, and got decent service that accomplished my goal. Obviously not a meaningful sample size, though.

What phone people. I would be glad to talk to anyone. If you have a number for them that I could actually talk to someone would be great

They call you, you can't call them. It is like working with the mafia or something.

My experiencing with eBay has been that there's no gray area. It's either really good or really bad. Most, sadly, is really bad.

It's always hit or miss. There are definitely some great reps in both the US and overseas that I've dealt with, but there are also a lot that should be in a different line of work. I've had some really rotten experiences with CS, especially when trying to deal with site bugs or account issues. I try not to contact CS unless I absolutely have to.
I've dealt with a lot of reps who gave me info that was 100% wrong and even when I pointed them to the eBay page that proved they were wrong, they just kept repeating that they were right like a scratched record. If I was a new seller and followed their advice I would have racked up some major hits. Sometimes it's better to hang up and try again otherwise you're just spinning wheels. Almost always it's better to ask other sellers before you attempt the CS route. In general you'll save time that way.
