Is it the one in your personal information section?
If so, does it matter if you recently changed it from a different state? This is because I sold a couple items from my old state where the 1099k threshold is $20k. The state I moved to, and since have not sold anything, has the threshold at $600. Will I still be sent a 1099k by eBay if my address was changed to the one in the new state with the lower threshold?
To be clear, I just now changed my address on eBay from the state with the $600 threshold to the address with the 20k threshold (where I sold my items). I don’t want to be sent a 1099k form for changing my address to a state where I didn’t sell any items (since I only went there for school- the state ID I have is still associated with the 20k threshold state).
Thanks for any input!

It would be to whatever address you have set up in your Site Preferences.
If you changed to a different state, it can change if a 1099K is issued as a few state require the form at a much lower threshold that the IRS is requiring for 2023.
The form would be issued for your account regardless of your address or if you moved with the exception of state requirements on the form.
Other than the state requirements for the 1099K, the IRS expects you to report your income no matter the state you reside in. And for your state, if you have state income taxes, you'd want to check their rules.

Thank you for your response!
Just for clarification- based on the address I have on eBay as of this moment, I wouldn’t receive a 1099k if the address state has a threshold of $20k (and I sold below that)?

OK, then what is the problem? What state are you in?

I am in GA where the threshold is $20k but my address was in MA ($600 threshold) for a small period of time. I just changed my address back to GA but I am concerned that my prior address in MA will affect me receiving a 1099K.
Will eBay use the recently-changed GA address and not send me a 1099k?

Unlikely that it will have any affect. But just remember, with or without a 1099K we are suppose to report our income to the IRS.
Yes, they will use GA address.

Gotcha, thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it. Happy holidays!

Yes, they will use GA address.
AND to the state where you resided when you earned the income. Regardless of the info that eBay has, MA or GA will expect you to report the income you earned when you lived in that state. If you moved to GA before you earned the money (in other words you were not living in MA) then there is nothing to report to MA.

So for bringing up an old thread. So I have a California id card but I’ve been living in Nevada for the past 2 years. I started selling on eBay this year. The address registered to my eBay is my home in Nevada. So I’ll be paying taxes based on Nevada?
