What about a book that does not have an isbn?

Does anyone know how to list a book that does not have a stored ISBN w ebay?  Sometimes, with certain books such as special edition, or Large Print version of a book, the ISBN does not come up when typed into ebay.  Then eBay will not let me list it.  It just keeps saying ISBN not found.  I tried typing N/A and that does not work either. 

I also have some religious books that do not have an ISBN and eBay will not let me list these either.  It makes me complete the item specifics and it won't list. 

I am starting to accumulate a pretty big stack of books that I can't get listed.  Is there any way around this, such as a generic ISBN, or other number I can fit into the ISBN area that will allow me to list these books? 

If you do not know the answer, please do not guess.  It inhibits those that may know the answer from answering.

i have had luck with using " doesnotapply " in the isbn field .... has been a little while since i listed but it has been with the new listing form ..

Hi, yes, doesnotappy, used to work with the old listing form.  Now that ebay has made me use the newer form (what ever they are calling it now), I can no longer get that to work.  It just says ISBN not found.  Here is an example:

I am wondering if you have tried this with the new form?  Or primarily the older form?

are you going beyond that "not found" window?  just closing it and then completing the listing...... ?  or  is this what is stopping you?  If you complete the listing, I think the listing  will list.......

That popup is what comes up 99% of the time even when I'm entering valid UPCs  right off the box. Just click out of it. I have no idea why they even bother with it.

It's most likely the same little annoyance on books and ISBNs

i list a lot in books .... for whatever reason, under ITEM SPECIFICS

..... ISBN Not Required ......

and I can list without ISBN...that does not answer your inquiry, but at least you could list them if it was not required........

i have not followed up on this particular listing...but I will right now to make sure it lists without the ISBN

Hi Everyone, I just figured out what was happening so I thought I would share it as I would not have gotten it without reading your comments.  I generally use Firefox as my browser, and it would allow the ISBN window to close, but it would not update the listing.  I switched over to Explorer and it worked just fine.  I just listed a book with "doesnotapply" as the ISBN and it was fine.  Thanks for your help.
