What Best Offer Value Works Best For You?

Curious as to what percentage off you send when sending a Best Offer to your watchers. Might just be me (highly doubt that) but the % I was sending before Oct 12 (and work with great success) is now returning crickets and people "unwatching" the item. Hmmm, are there more people looking for the lowest price on Ebay now? Hard to say, but wanted to see what % is working for other sellers they are actually seeing a sale from.

Rarely send offers any more - just usually other Sellers watching, I guess.

When we do, we do at least 10% off, but the item(s) are usually already "on sale", so it depends.  But at least 10% off if already on sale and maybe 15% off, if not.

Really depends on the item and if we have free shipping/free returns already on the item.

Re: What Best Offer Value Works Best For You?

That is a wide open question and can be answered different by each seller. There is one seller who comes here regularly that ask 2x to 5x more than the market will bear. They wait for an offer then accepts  up to 50% off the listing price. It does not work well at all for that poster. It is easier just to ask an amount equal to the going rate instead of raising the price and expecting offers.

Re: What Best Offer Value Works Best For You?

Depending upon the item I wait three to four weeks after listing and then send offers at 20% below asking.  I start the asking price a little high but still well within the trading range of the item.   But my gross margins are so high I can usually go down to 50% from the original asking price over time with shipping usually being the majority of my invested cost and the limiting factor as to how low to go.

Re: What Best Offer Value Works Best For You?

I never send best offers to watchers. A lot of watchers simply watch the item to see if it sells. If they were interested they know how to initiate contact. Simply a messaging game I don't have time or desire to engage in.

Frankly  I'm not interested in offers and wish ebay would quit sending endless emails and clogging up my bids page.

i'm not watching many if any items anymore because I am sick of this feed garbage.

Blame it on Hal....
