Weird Request

I just recently sold my old Iphone 12 max and after the buyer paid they sent a me this message -

"I’m surprising a friend with this so please do NOT include my name or username in the order. That way it won’t humiliate my friend or make them angry with me. I will give you a 5 star review in return."

Even before buying it everytime they messaged me they always seemed to mention that they were buying it for a friend. The name of the buyer and the one on the address. The buyer also seem to live in a different state.

Is this huge red flag that I should just cancel the order saying they gave me the wrong address?

Only ship to the buyers registered address, and make sure this is the actual buyer emailing you.Otherwise cancel with problem with buyers address.

@balindrei0

People buy for friends and family all the time and the item shipped straight to them.

Ship to the address they gave with the payment.

As long as the buyer provides the address and name they want it sent to there are no red flags.

Buyers can use any address/name they want during checkout so as long as they do that it should be fine.

If they want to change the address AFTER they have paid then that is a red flag.

The request for no invoice is pretty standard when you are purchasing a gift as is having it sent directly to the giftee. Many online sites offer a checkbox just for that purpose.
