I've been on the 'new' messaging for a while now. I don't dislike it. I could even say I like it better. But like 51%/49%. 🙂

Never "try" anything "new" that eBay wants you to "try." Give them 2 years to get it working properly.

Honestly its not that bad.

I like it, except it's missing a few "minor" features, things like... search? Reporting messages?
Yeah, I don't recommend it, even though the style is nice. It's missing too many features for now.

At least for right now you can try it out as much as you like and then change back to the current interface in order to actually get work done. 🙄
I have not yet been able to reproduce the bug I saw in my first round of testing where the app got lost between its Subject pane and Message pane - pulling up the Subject of one thread with the message of another. Its biggest problem going forward is all the lack of functionality as compared with the current Messages utility - especially the inability to CC your own email address.
I know it has been said before but I see cannot why they are essentially attempting to replace a desktop email utility with a simulation of a mobile texting app.

Are you just now seeing that? That message in Messages has been there for a while. I tried it I didn't like it.

Their roll-outs are always rough - we're expected to do the R&D, I guess their coders don't know how.

I just used it a couple days ago and it works fine. Even though if something is the buyer's fault, they will decline sellers' protection and immediately respond telling you they gave buyer a refund regardless if it is clearly the buyer's fault. No need to even bother with the messaging system, it is no better than a phone call.

Agree. Working properly is the pinnacle of importance in my book, however. . .
Having observed the "updated" messaging, what strikes me, and 7 other people looking over my shoulder,
is that it's much too busy. AND. . . Only ONE among the 7 doesn't see that it's another blatant avenue for eBay to bombard the user with ads, promotional shtuff and other things that distract from the reason we have gone to messages in the first place. Yes, as difficult as it might be for eBay to understand this, WE clicked on messages because we JUST WANT TO CHECK OUR MESSAGES, nothing more.
