Watcher Count Suddenly is Not Showing Them Any Longer,

Watchers are not showing suddenly on my items. Some folks don't like having watchers I heard but i do and worked hard to have the ones I got. Its not making any sense why suddenly after 2 years they wont show them. The watchers help I feel in fixed priced items. Who can I contact to fix this, its not showing them for 2 solid days now. Part of the reason I sold one of my items over and over was due to the watchers and now I am losing money I am sure.  Is there a glitch or am I in "Ebay Time Out, or Ebay Jail" It makes me wish I didnt get a store front after all.

Hi, no you haven't been singled out or put in eBay lock-up. This is being reported on the boards in the last few days. As to whether it has been explained, i dont think so yet. You can see other threads with the same concern here on the Selling board, for more discourse.

by chance do you have links to the boards discussing the watcher count not showing?  My watcher count has not been fixed at all, my daughter is a big seller on ebay and all her watchers are showing. As soon as I upgraded my store they all disappeared to the public, however, I can see them within my own " My Ebay"  so when I contacted tech support they said they could see my watchers, so they had me send photos of screen shots which clearly show they are not being seen by the public, but on their end in tech support they saw them so now I don't know if they are fixing it. Perhaps I should downgrade my store, i had no problems when I was on a basic store, and I had more sales, now my sales plumited down . for me anyway, watchers help me, people are more eager to come in and see my items, but there was a definite corelation to loss of sales with the watchers not showing now.

Per the blues it's deliberate.  Call and complain, often and loudly.

They show on my page. In seller hub when I bring up my active listings the watcher column is right where it has always been. It does seem that eBay reset the totals to zero, but as time goes by the numbers are going up again.

If they are not showing for you then near the top right of the page is a link that says "customize". Click that and you will get a menu of things you can see if you want to. Just highlight the watchers link and they should show for you too.

The watchers show to me and me only now..  In My Ebay, they are fine, I see them, but publicly they are not showing any longer. And my sales show it too.  We went and used 5 different computers, at other homes and my own, logged in and also logged out, on Google Chrome, Safari MAC IOS, also Yahoo, Fire Fox and Opera and all of us did NOT see my watch count any longer. Only on like 2 of them they show but only in search but not on the listing page, also 99% dont show publicly at all any more.. So my sales have dropped to nothing and they did this to me just after upgrading my store.. So beginning of Jan I upgraded and then 2 weeks in they took my watchers away from being seen publicly. It feels like it was intentional to get more money from me to upgrade, and then take my benefits back.. Now feeling isn't saying it true but it feels this way.. And I'm very concerned and thinking of deleting my entire store now.. Seriously who pushes you to upgrade your store and then take your benefits away.. I have been on here awhile and always my watchers showed.. So I have besides me others that saw this on their own computers about my store.. So its not my device doing this.. The first gentleman at ebay was very kind and he said there were other reports, unless it was scripted to say, but at least he was kind, the second person acted like I was lying becaues they were looking at computers within ebay, of course they will see the watchers, but  I was trying to explain publicly nobody is seeing them.. I have one item with 17 watchers and was selling regularly and now I have zero sales, others have 14 watchers, and others 9 watchers and none of them are showing.. One of my items that was selling well, well another store seller took my very title and they are getting my sales while my watchers probably defected out...  I just dont think you should ask a seller to upgrade and do that to them.. I am going to probably downgrade or delete my store and I am going to request there be NO PENALTY For downgrade since they can't fix the issue... That is the only reason why I upgraded, I felt good about my watchers and I'm not going to give them my money for the next year if my watchers are not showing.... its wrong and unethical... But of course they try to blame your device but I have friends and family, and one family member who is tech swavy and he said the same thing, they simply are not showing them.. So I would not be made at a virus or glitch so long as they fix it in the next day or two.. But its been already going on 2 weeks its been this way and nothing has been done and I know ebay needs to switch it back on and I know that they can... Or at least tell me they have found a virus and are aware .. instead you got someone that doesn't know much saying its my device.. Well that don't cut it when you havve 5 people's computers seeing the same thing as me... I'm very frustrated and just want my money back for the last 2 weeks that this glitch is going on and if its permanent I want no penalty for downgrade to lower basic store.. I'm an artist and working on my clothing art line but now I don't think I will list them here..

I believe you have it backwards. The more watchers, the less chance you have of getting a sale. Everyone can see that no one is willing to pay the price you are asking therefore no one will commit to buy.

Complete agreement.

I could argue that if there are a significant number of watchers and the item is still available then maybe there is something wrong with it, I just don’t see it, in which case I might pass it by. .

The second argument, which other sellers have mentioned over a wide variety of other postings, is that some (many? all?) of the watchers are simply other sellers keeping an eye on their competition.

As a buyer, I don’t care how many watchers there are. If I want it I buy it. I don’t care one way or the other how many watchers there are.

I think the OP is fretting over a useless statistic.

I do agree partly on that, I'm not worried about some of them, its only a few that the watchers boosted my sales. I do agree that if there are too many watchers then something is wrong.. But I'm only worried about a few of mine where it did work to my advantage. I'm going to try not to worry about it any more. What happens, happens I guess..  Thank you though for writing back, I do appreciate the input on this

This has been going on awhile now and from what I can tell  from reading these boards not too many sellers like it. If you want to voice your opinion  about this to e bay , you can either trying calling them  or you can go to your summary  page , look up to the top right hand corner and you'll see a  '' Tell us what you think '' . Just click on that and it will take you to some questions to answer about e bay  plus it will give you a box to write your own words . You can let them know how you feel about this situation  there . YOU ARE 1000% RIGHT I SELL ART IT REALLY AFFECTS THE ARTS,put ya in the ditch then blame ya for being in the ditch,that's what low down dirty dogs does,you are right on all counts 70% SOUTH FOR US,we are very consistent.You hit the nail on the head,it's a crazy situation,i want to move to (plenty mad) but this isn't planned event been here 12 years,never would have thought they would do this ever, go to "watchcount" they get data straight from ebay,it will confirm everything you are saying.it's hard this kinda stuff stifles my creativity,can't get it outa my head,it's so malicous kinda the spirit of famine,hard to shake.take care!!!

I've called so many times,like it? LOL 70% south $,it's the spirit of famine, don't think there would be a better way one could hurt sellers.

it doesn't affect mutiple item listings if you can figure out a way to group your cloths,for instance photo 3 shirts make it clear they need pick one or 2 or 3 make them the same size and put 3 available in the listing you could do it with up to 12 items as long as they are the same price and size,the challenge making it clear to the buyer,it could also help sell more then one item at time by offering a shipping discount at the same time.
