I woke up yesterday to a few messages from Ebay in my email account.
There were 4 purchases that I hadn't made, and a message saying my password had been reset, which I hadn't done.
I tried to log into my Ebay account, but with the password changed to ??? i couldn't. I used the link in the message, and asked Ebay to call me. They called within 1 minute, sent me a link to reset my password, and transferred my call to Paypal.
Paypal looked at the purchases, and reversed the charges, and sent a link to reset my password for them. Overall, I think I got it all taken care of in about 15 minutes total. I was very impressed, I was sure it was going to be an all day thing!
I see alot of bashing on here, so I just wanted to share my positive experience. I wasn't expecting it, but was pleasantly suprised!

Glad to see everything worked out! CS has been very helpful for the most part when I've had to call - even the foreign reps.

Are you very sure that all of the messages, links, transferred calls, etc are legitimate? I see red flags in whole scenerio. Better to be safe than sorry.

As someone who has been hacked 5 times on ebay,
change your passwords often. I change mine every few months.
And use separate passwords for ebay and paypal.

Yep, I'm sure it was all legit, the same emails were also coming thru Ebay messaging. I will be changing everything again, and I'm due for changing my email passwords, ect, too so will be doing that.
Funny thing, the purchases made were 4 of them, all for $19.99 each of halogen lightbulbs for a car. I would think they would try for something like a laptop or something expensive! smh

Often times they will start for a cheap item to feel things out and see if it will go through.
And if it does, they quickly escalate to more expensive items.
