I had an item listed with a best offer option. The buyer sent me an offer and wrote a note along with the offer stating he would also cover the shipping cost. I accepted and sent out the invoice without the full amount of the shipping and the buyer paid that. After getting back from the post office I contacted the buyer and asked for the additional money for shipping. Needless to say he refused..saying it was too much money. I then contacted ebay and put in a dispute. Somehow the note form the best offer now was changed to " I WOULD COVER THE COST OF SHIPPING " it was in my ebay name!! Has anyone had anything like this??

So a buyer gets an invoice for 4 items .. but the seller byhis own error.. only charged for 1 item to ship instead of all 4...the buyer can say too bad .. ?? And the seller is not entitled to get the rest of his shipping charges.. next time the bank makes an error in your favor or you get a tax refund double what you deserve .. good luck trying to keep that .. maybe in eBay land .. the real world you get sued

And again, you dodge the questions.

We're on Page 4, and no one has posted to say their account was compromised. Is that enough?

Still trying to figure this out for you...
How much money did you receive from the buyer? $200 or $215? Look in your PayPal account and see what the total amount of the transaction was for.
Thank you.

Please refrain from making these detective assumptions... read ...

That is not an assumption. you said it. That is a mestake on your part.
OK, i did mis-read about shipping before payment. Please take it to mean FULL-payment.
"I then sent him an email for the additional $63.00" -
That is not an assumption. you said it. That is a mestake on your part. no matter what the emails said.
all im trying to find out is if anyone else had any type of hacking to there account
No, you are trying to doge responsibilty for your own actions.

i wiould I would say no the buyer didn't hack your account and change stuff after...face it it is harder to hack in , and i doubt you're talking about something of real worth...
but if you sent it without the shipping already paid...and whatever the changing of the invoice was...and expected collection of money after send...that is simple crazy on your part... ok free shipping was already there but they said they would pay... so you senda paypal request for shipping ...period....they pay it THEN you ship... just because you messed up, doesn't mean anyone HACKED you...
think you just plain messed it up and did without knowing what you were really doing. chalk it up to a learning experience

Once again .. the buyersent a NOTE to me WHEN he made an OFFER on my auction . TROUGH eBay !!! Tha NOTE states HE would cover ALL shipping if I accepted HIS offer to me... later when he realized how much actual shipping would be he REFUSED to pay the additional fee.. When I reported to EBay.. The BUYER somehow CHANGED the name on the note.. so it would seem that I SENT HIM THE NOTE that I would cover all the shipping cost Not him.. why would I COVER THE SHIPPING???

It's the NOTE that has me worried .. how he was able to change the name on it

Yep. How is that going for you, so far?
next time the bank makes an error in your favor or you get a tax refund double what you deserve .. good luck trying to keep that ..
Well, you and i arn't the bank or the IRS. They trump everybody.

Take a deep breath. Don't worry. We'll get to the bottom of this.
When you have a chance, please post copies of all the correspondence you had with this buyer so we can see what it is you received. But, please block out the name of the buyer as that sort of info can't be posted here.
Thank you.

So, you're saying he changed the name in the note on the original offer? Still waiting to see a screenshot of that.

thegoodthebadtheugly, the problem is people are getting confused by what you write. You have said the buyer wrote you through email which means it is done outside of eBay. But, then you say they wrote you an email through eBay which isn't possible since eBay does not handle email message. So I'm guessing now every time you said email you meant a message through eBay. Is that correct?
If you contacted eBay about this issue you may also have confused them by saying email. They can't help you if you received the buyers offer by email. Remember email is off site. An email is sent you at an email address such as you@yahoo.com. You can not read an email on eBay. eBay can not read these messages and will not even attempt to read anything you get from a buyer through email.
So if this offer was sent through the message system on eBay then yes ebay can view them and eBay may attempt to help you out. If you speak to someone who doesn't seem to be American call back and hopefully you will get lucky. I know it's a pain because I've been there myself. It took me half a day to speak to someone American and who knew what they were talking about.
