Hello, I've noticed Ebay really pushing it's international shipping program but I've always played it safe and just shipped domestically (US) for fear that shipping internationally will be a big pain in the butt, wondering if anybody can tell me if it's worth it? Please have a look at the items I'm selling. It's just clothing-- a small number of new quality items or vintage items. About to list some vintage jewelry that isn't highly valuable. I plan to ask all buyers to pay actual shipping cost. Is it true that there are no fees for me if I switch over to international? Thanks for any help on this!

It's not a big hassle.
It's not even a small hassle.
It's zero hassle.
There is absolutely no extra work involved.
There is no extra risk involved.
The seller protection is actually BETTER when using EIS.
It' a no brainer.

The EIS program offers virtually unlimited seller protections even from CC chargebacks. It is FAR better protection than you have with domestic shipping. There are still the normal final value fees but the FVF is only applied to the price of the item and the domestic shipping leg. You don't have to deal with the international shipping leg and the EIS program will invoice the international buyer for the total price of the item + all shipping and possibly the customs fees and/or VAT. Once the buyer has paid all you do is ship the item to the EIS hub and you are virtually done.
The EIS program does have some limits on the items you can ship through the EIS program most of which are due to import/export restrictions. The EIS program is the only way I would sell/ship internationally. Following is some information on the program.

It is simple and easy. The extra seller protections will not last forever so it's a no brainer for me.

Please learn more about the EIS: You still will be shipping only domestically -- to the shipping hub and eBay bears the responsibility from here.
Not sure what makes you believe there are no fees to you if you switch. You will still have final value fees to pay.

Thank you for the replies so far!!! 🙂 🙂 I am wary of eBay, thought it might be a too-good-to-be-true sorta thing. I'll convert my old listings and not restrict the new ones.

I will guarantee your satisfaction or your money back ... because it doesn't cost you anything extra. 😉

I wonder about this too. It is so good that it's almost too good to last forever. I had stopped shipping internationally until this program, but signed up when offered. It has been wonderful so far. I'm not a big seller, but I am selling some things through the program.
Just this week I was notified that a INR claim was filed for one of my packages through the program. As promised, I was advised there was nothing for me to do and ebay would handle everything. I looked at the tracking and it showed delivered to the hub and also the final delivery in Italy. Oddly, though, a couple days later I was notified the claim was closed and my buyer had been refunded by ebay. This made me wonder if the protection would last, because I couldn't understand why ebay refunded even with tracking showing delivered. 🤔

I had a INR that they refunded as well.
I don't think mine was delivered.
Hoping they can keep the program going as-is.

There is an additional 1.65% eBay fee if buyer is listed from another country in their eBay ID.
Would it help sales...probably not for clothing and I think it would be a big hassle.
American sizes differ from other countries...might end up with 'returns'...plus colors where it's looks nice in a photo buy International Buyer might not be able to under English words.
The returns where seller pays for returns could be a factor.

Stellar, since the EIS program was established, I have sold three eligible items, with two buyers claiming INAD. I was merely informed of the situation and e-Bay handled the problem at zero cost to me. As other posters have commented, why not give it a try?

I love the eBay International program. I wish domestic shipping was as easy and hassle-free. INRs and negs are non-issues and eBay deals with any potential headaches once they take possession of the package.

With EIS, there is no International fee.
Returns are no problem, doesn't matter who pays return shipping, Ebay takes care of it, not the seller.
