Visibility of listings views and sales in US dropped dramatically October 2021

After recent update, my account seems to be bricked. New listings have no views (usually I get 5-10 views in the first hour after listing; now it has been a day and some have 0 and others 1); old listings don’t get any more or less watcher. I have old listing in the message displayed “item sold, please ship it as soon as possible). I didn’t get any sales since October 11.  All my items are promoted . Anyone with the same issues? I am just wondering if it is just me or others as well. I called Ebay multiple times but they are clueless as everything looks good to them.

A LOT of posts about this, there was a huge category and IS update that affected the entire site, hope things pick up soon for you, but all over the boards it seems to be the same catch cry.

Spot check some of your listings to see if they are in the correct category, particularly Pottery & Glass, Jewelry, Dolls, & Post Cards to name a few. I had to revise all my listings as all were in incorrect categories.

I posted pretty close to the same thing you said. Except I called eBay a bunch of liars. They said they would not make any changes in the fourth quarter again that would effect sellers. My post has disappeared.

I actually was looking through the boards and didn’t see anyone posting issues. How long is this supposed to last: I thought that 24-48 would be acceptable but already over a week and then how long more? I called Ebay and being so frustrated with not getting answers and  I filed couple formal complaints with AG and FTC.

For what?

When I signed up, I don't remember seeing anything saying that my listings are guaranteed to get views or sales.

Could it be that no one is looking for what you have for sale right now?

My sales and views are down 46 percent on Etsy and 52 % on Amazon,  and I don't sell collectables.

There are conversations on  the boards of all these sites about sales being down significantly.

The tenants upstairs from me sell on Amazon.    They usually have a special pickup by the post office due to their volume.    He was telling me this month ,  he is only shipping about 10 items a day.

I just think that after 40 years of a consumer economy ,  the bubble burst.     My DIL quit her marketing job,   they do just fine on my sons salary,  hers bought the little extras.     She wants to stay home with my Granddaughter who as she said  really doesn't need more toys and clothes.

It's crazy. The traffic numbers are WAY down. I think people are just in a holding pattern on non-essentials until this covid stuff mostly passes, businesses can find help,  and people in government stop bickering like kids sharing a sandbox.

For unfair practice. Again updates are acceptable if they don’t affect selling for a prolong period of time. Don’t you think it is a problem? When YOUR SALES GO DOWN BY 100% DUE TO Ebay’s fault. And when you contact them for answers they have none and they give you run around (transfer you from one rep to another pretending they know more ; you ask for Supervisor and they are unavailable? Is there anyone competent running Ebay? Updates should be done in a way that don’t disrupt too much.

I know the Fall is usually slower but my sales in automotive category are down to 0. I have never had that.

My son is a software engineer who knows   back end programming,   a rare skill in software.

They wanted him to work this weekend.      Product is due out the door next week.      He told them that he had plans,  hotels booked and tickets bought.    He also pointed out that his stuff was done and worked. 

They  told him to cancel the plans because they needed him to help others.     He said no and they said show up or your fired.      He quit.    He has had it up the ying yang with 60 hour work weeks,   abusive bosses and no life.  

Will he get another job,   he has 3 interviews next week.

Maybe Ebay workforce has trouble with vaccine mandates as well and hence the problems. My account is frozen. Nothing works in it as it should. I am not talking about slight drops in sales and visibility. Ebay stock is in great standing. That means that business is going well so what is up with my account ? Is it after update already? Or it is in the middle of the update? Is someone working to fix glitches ? Can I help fix glitches in my account? Noone can answer my questions. It seems Ebay has no supervisors and newly hired reps have no clue or know where to send me for help. Can they escalate it to hire management?
