It wasnt too many years ago a person could see how many views other sellers got. Then suddenly that was removed. Altho it is no ones business how many views other sellers get, it is a example of what might be going on with the site. Hide the view counters, hide how bad it's getting. That simple.

There are a billion items on ebay.........you'd have to see quite a few of them to ascertain how the site "was doing"..........
That said, I do miss seeing the info.......

Some people still have counters and some don't. I am not sure why that is.

Am I missing the point here?
I get the number of page views on my "active " listings page even if it takes more time and clicks to get that page up.

eBay is like most businesses that remove things when they are not used very often.
I really can not think of a reason to record and monitor views from other sellers listings? Chances are there is a way and it might be a third party app, but I do not think this is something many sellers do on a regular basis and with any efficiency.
What is your purpose for wanting to do this?
Good Luck Selling!

View Counters (the old ones, anyway) in a listing are mostly considered 'Active Content' along with scrolling galleries and such.
eBay took away their view counter option for new listings at the same time they took away their watermarking.
Any listing that still has one is either 1) using a third party add-on 2) Is a very old listing or 3) is a sell similar from a very old listing.

Thanks. Makes total sense.

Oh I can tell you why. Thats pretty simple. Number one, its a way to see if anyone who sells the same thing is getting any views. It gives a good feel to what's going on. Any interest in type of items, OR bad site. All I can say is when you could see the counters, it told alot. After talking to other sellers. They said they were experiencing the same thing. In my experience our views went from 35- 50 a day ,on every item, every for years. To tanking overnight. I do believe it was when they rolled out cassini. now who's to say what's going on now.

Views do not mean that much, unless they go up suddenly, down suddenly, or are extrememly high or low. I just don't have time to watch them and everything runs just fine. I usually glance at the views around the time an item ends, if at all.

I understand what you are saying, but that hiding could also work to your advantage. If you have a low view count, and everyone sees that, they may decide they can wait to buy your item, or they may decide the item is not that great if there isn't more interest~~maybe there is something wrong with it.

Yeah, I really don't understand why people care so much about views. Out of all of the things I've sold in December and January, only 3 of them had more than 50 views. Obviously the view numbers didn't matter one bit because they all sold anyway.

Same. And I've had plenty of things sell with just that single view, too!

High Views with low sell through is not a "good" thing ...
All it says is that a lot of people opened the listing and decided NOT to buy.
And ... even when a seller views their own listing, it ups the view counter by one.
A seller (or anybody) can open the listing and refresh the page 50 times ... voila 50 "views"

counters were considered 'active content', so had to be removed, at least mine did 😞
