Video Game Collector's Edition Pre-Sale Policy Violators

I'm sure there are many irate fans already expressing there distaste on social media. Why hasn't eBay employees, bots or both haven't removed all 985 listings? Just to name a few below, they all violate the pre-sale policy.

Borderlands 3 Diamond Loot Chest (search results: 107, sold: 385) -- release date: Sept 13, 2019

Death Stranding Collector's Edition (search results: 297, sold: 283) -- release date: Nov 8, 2019

Doom Eternal Collector's Edition (search results: 271, sold: 83) -- release date: Nov 22, 2019

Cyberpunk 2077 Collectors Edition (search results: 310, sold: 64) -- release date: April 2020

Does eBay favor certain store sellers. While looking the other way or penalizing competitors or non-store sellers? Idk how favoritism or politics works here.

How it works here is that there are millions of new listing posted every day, it's impossible to check every one especially for policy violations which don't have a detectable "signature".

If they get enough BUYER complaints they may take action.

So I assume you got caught and those others have not yet got caught ? Some manage to sneak by but most eventually will get caught. There are just too many trying to get away with it for them to catch them all before the listing ends.

No one does. Ebay insists that it treats all sellers equally when it comes to policy, but we have no way to verify this independently. The platform continues to be much less transparent as time goes on, compared to its earlier incarnations. Without an unbiased information flow from eBay, it is difficult to know very much. However, it's a good bet to say if you sell in the same categories as the items you have reported for violations, those reports may not carry the same weight as a buyer complaint.

Large sellers with anchor stores may enjoy some perks that the small seller might not, such as  dedicated customer service contacts or account managers. But I really wouldn't call that favoritism, I'd call it business. As for corporate politics, I believe eBay is too large an entity to play many political games with its users. Which is not to say they don't manipulate them for their benefit. Ultimately eBay is a for-profit enterprise and they run the show to generate as much as they can.

You keep reporting these here, but this is a member to member board.  None of us has the authority or access to do anything about this.  You need to contact Ebay directly.

I know you are really bothered by these listings, but it is Ebay's attention you need.

It's important to be aware of where you post a question on Ebay’s Facebook page.  A comment on one of Ebay’s marketing posts won't be answered, but comments posted directly on Ebay’s page will.

Nope, never sold anything outside the 30 day pre-sale window nor would I ever risk it. I've read way to many horror stories online about that. But I guess some people like taking risks.
