Variation Listings - change to listing form

Is anybody else hating this change as much as I am? Variations are now in a bubble cloud instead of a list. When a listing has a lot of variations it takes forever to look through the bubbles to find the new ones you added just so you can upload pics.

What the hell is with all of these time-wasting changes by eBay? I swear the people in charge of these things do not use the tools they are changing. If they did there's no way they'd move forward with this garbage.

Luckily I manage all my listings from a different software that syncs to eBay via API.

Because that looks horrible.

@wastingtime101  I'm sorry to see that for sure. It's like bad ideas never die at enay... They just wait and try and sneak them in again.  Makes no sense.   I personally have never used variations because I seek all one off unique items and if I have a few variations, I just make a fresh listing but I can feel your pain with what they just did to you! 

    At this point the culture is just so engrained in eBay that I don't think we will ever see improvement in the process unless the company get sold and purchased by someone with logical business sense that realizes that the sellers are the heart and soul of eBay and ebay's job should be to make it easier and more efficient to list and run a business here, not just test and experiment with silly ideas on a weekly basis. Everyone BUT ebay seems to get it- simplicity, uniformity, efficiency, stability, logical progression, no surprises, predictability, etc., ....... That is what we need to succeed.... Oh yeah... And a search engine that just shows people what they type in the box instead of AI malarkey.

Creating a listing with 12 variations and I have to deal with this bull on the default photos and photos for every single variation. Way to make a 5 min process take a bleeping hour. This is the most inefficient change - even more so than all the other recent idiotic function changes eBay has made lately.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE - can you do anything to help us get this reverted kyle@ebay ?!

Why does eBay think it's acceptable to torture sellers that use variations after this bull was already rejected on single item listings? Here's an April 2024 refresher for everyone:

I need clarification on this new page. I hope you can help me.

I need to remove 3 default photos and replace them with new photos. Then I need to remove the photos from 5 variations and replace them with new photos.  When I delete the three default photos and replace them with new photos, all the variation photos change to display the main default photo. 

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Check to see if eBay changed variation pics selection from variation to default @mcdougle4248 .

I'll have to mess around but I didn't see that happening last night.

OK next step - when you click on one of the variations, does it show the variation photos or are they replaced by the default image?

I'm thinking it could be an issue where eBay is displaying the wrong thumbnail but in reality the variation photos aren't affected.

Also - if you save changes to go back to the main listing page, then go back into the variations page - does it still show the wrong thumbnails?

If you can give me a few hours I'll be able to test this on my end and see if I can replicate the issue.

However you're still on the old variations page, not the new hell-ish layout so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Yes, when I click on one of the variations, it shows the correct variation photos.

ETA: It looks like the only change for me is to the photo section. I did not get all those bubbles that you screenshot previously.

I am afraid to do this ↑ ↑ ↑ Could I lose all my current variation photos if it does not work?

No @mcdougle4248 because you can close out the browser window.

You're not saving the listing - just the variation page. While in edit mode, if you close out the listing all changes will be lost. Meaning, your listing will stay the same as it was before you hit edit.

   Its a shame to see another round of ebay's unannounced, design changes diverting seller's attention from listing more, and new products for the largest selling season,  and instead has them fumbling around just wasting time trying to figure it all out and find workarounds for newly inefficient changes

   You cant make this stuff up....  Selling on ebay is like groundhog day lol..... how do they possibly keep repeating the same mistakes month after month year after year?
