I received an email from ebay saying my package had arrived. I chked my porch area where the usps (online tracking) said they placed it. It wasn’t there, only a box of chocolates from my daughter w/another tracking #. I looked up that tracking #that was on that box & USPS said no status. My thoughts are the carrier scanned my ebay purchase either before she left the warehouse showing it delivered (which happens, read many complaints from usps site where ppl have complained) or she scanned it while at my home and then for some reason, error , picked up the box that had the chocolates instead and delivered that. I will be patient for 1 week then I want my refund from ebay. Since the sender made a claim w/the usps, and it takes forever, who is responsible for my refund if the seller won’t refund thinking that the usps should refund. She’s kind of making sounds that the usps will refund me when they’re done looking for the package. I feel it’s up to the sender to wait for the reimbursement from the usps, not me. She should refund me after I’ve waited one week to see if product shows up. What is the protocol for this?? Hopefully, someone will know.

a seller has to have a tracking # saying the item was delivered to the address on file with ebay . i enter the number when i sell with the purchase details . when it says delivered to that address on file my responsibility for getting to that address on file is over. now, if it says in transit still or there is no movement then the seller is still liable. the seller does not have to refund if your pkg showing delivered to its correct destination on file.

If it's marked delivered, it's not the sellers responsibly to refund

Did you ever consider that someone stole the package?

Did you call your PO? They have GSP to show where packages are delivered......... and can sometimes retrieve it...... If it was stolen from your porch, not anything the PO or the seller can do about it.........

I would also strongly suggest contacting your local post office ( NOT the 800 number) and requesting they check the GPS coordinates where it was delivered and make sure they don't match your house. If they do, make sure no one else took the package in without telling you. It might have been dropped with a neighbor, or at the wrong house entirely. You can also file a tracking request with the USPS website which ought to force them to go looking for what they did with your mail.

If we let buyers get a refund just by saying something wasn't delivered, when tracking shows that it was, things will be chaos - end of sales on eBay. If you can prove that the item wasn't delivered, IMO, eBay should have the seller provide a refund to you. We have to do something with MP pending payments, right?
