Used Perfume Selling Questions

Hi!  Is anyone else having issues selling gently used perfume? I didn’t have any issues until this past month.

eBay keeps saying my perfumes are counterfeit when they are not. Does that mean someone is reporting them as counterfeit?

I deleted all my perfumes, but they were the exact same ones many other people are selling. And I see many used perfumes for sale

It seems weird to be singled out. Thanks for any insight.

Re: Used Perfume Selling Questions

I used to sell used perfume when it was allowed, and shipping it was kind of a pain, anyway.  It was almost as bad as when I used to sell alcohol here (when it was allowed).  It's probably good to sell it locally, anyway - no shipping hassles.

I have never sold "gently used" perfume for exactly the reason SlippinJimmy stated it's not allowed. I have sold some new perfume, but never again. I never had a problem with the listing but shipping is another issue. Any perfume that contains alcohol, which most do, cannot be shipped internationally and you are limited to shipping using ground transport within the U.S.

That danged stuff being thrown around through ground transport over 7-10 days' time did frustrate me, despite the fact that I'm a good packer.  I sold out my bottles of perfume and was done with it - then eBay disallowed the used perfume category, anyway (but allow used cosmetic brushes - blech).  Nothing  sold was collectible so I couldn't sell under that category, it was just mostly full, full-size bottles of good stuff I'd gotten from a perfume rep.

I know. I don’t understand the ban either.

It's poorly applied. eBay hasn't figure out that 'cleaning' used cosmetic applicators can no more be regulated than swatched cosmetics or slightly used perfumes.  It would be more consistent if they just banned any kind of cosmetic save for new.

Re: Used Perfume Selling Questions

Hello yes I am also trying to find another place to sell my perfume. Ebay has a habit of singling out just certain people or items while not applying it to everyone. I dont know if you doing well the people selling new bottles bring you to ebays attention and have you removed? It makes no sense and is Unfair. I was selling Brand New in the Box Tester bottles of perfume that I purchased from a retail store closing. These are NOT FAKES just NEW TESTERS in the original boxes. Ebay said because the ingredients weren't on the box I couldn't see them. WHAT A CROCK when people are selling used half full bottles with no box or ingredients on them? I believe if you selling well and someone doesn't want you selling your items and brings it to ebays attention you are removed and put on their radar so you can't sell that item anymore. Its not fair and I am tring to find other sites to move my business to for this reason as well as many others. If you find another site please let me know. Lorianncrouch47@gmail.com
