Updating to a bussiness account

So, found out today that for some reason my account had been set up as a individual account instead of business,  so I went to update. Of course,  went through a few issue with trying to verify bank again, that was fixed. Now I'm running into issues with them verifying my EIN and business. Just wondering if this is common. All the information provided is correct, but they kept coming back with the red banner saying they couldn't verify the information.  So, went ahead and loaded the IRS form that was provided when we registered as a LLC with all the information regarding the EIN and what not. Waiting to see if that fixes the issue, but based on the hour long phone call, I'm thinking I might still run into issues. It would be great if someone has any insight.  We had assumed it was already registered as a business account because we had told them this when we set up the account innthe beginning,  but it wasn't, total oversight on our part.

They do have a certain format they need the info in.  Take a look at this link closely and make sure you have complied.

Please review the below link carefully. It contains very important information as to how Ebay needs to see the information you provide them on your account. It is likely easier to change your Ebay account to match your bank account if you find there to be a difference.

Yeah, that's why I was confused, because everything that I provided was correct. The bank account I've been using is the same as well, just this time they are using the business name to verify,  which should be fine because it's our business account that has all that same information. I'm not sure what's going on. Since I loaded the form, it seems like that took that at least but the bank info is still under verification. I thought maybe others had a similar experience and might know if that was normal.

All I know to tell you is you can sell on either a personal or a business eBay account. The type of account should match--link a personal checking account to a personal eBay account, and link a business checking account to a business eBay account.

I don't  know how you were able to change your account from personal to business.  I  tried last year to change mine  to a business account but the edit button is grayed out (disabled).

Despite having business checking linked to my business account ebay had trouble verifying it. I had them send the micro deposits and problem was solved.

Yea, I think we may end up having to do that again, even though we had done it once already when we originally opened the selling account. I believe they changed it from using my name to the business name instead. It was just kind of frustrating with the whole verifying the business because it kept coming back , even though all the numbers,  name and address was correct. When we called, they had to transfer me twice because the first two didn't really understand what I was having a problem with. It just had been stuck at the verifying the bank but then afterwards,  it was poping up problems with verifying the business information. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Your opinion of everything being correct and Ebay's version of everything being correct are NOT necessarily the same thing.  The problem is likely in the details.

Does your Primary name and address PERFECTLY match what is stated on your Bank account.  Not a single character can be different.  Is that bank account a checking account.  It has to be a checking account.

If there is any differences in this information, even one letter, it will create this problem for you.

Ebay does NOT EVER change your account information.  If it got changed, someone on your end changed it.  If you have your account set up to be under a business name, make sure you have your account set to be a Business account.

Updating to a bussiness account

When we updated the account to business it defaulted to the business name to be used for the bank account. The third step was for us to verify a bank account to use for payouts, which was the same account we have been using. That's why it had changed from my name to the business name. It's not a big deal, because both my name and the business name were used when opening that account, plus it's a business checking account.

It looks like they just needed the form to verify the information we provided them. As far as the checking account used, yes it's a business checking account. Right now it's on the last step in verification. They have just put a hold on payout for up to 48 hours to make sure everything still matches.

If it is a Business checking account, then there is a Business name on the bank account.  The Business name you have in Ebay MUST PERFECTLY match that to include the address.

Yes, everything is exactly matched. We called today to check to see if the verification for the business had went through, and it did. All we are waiting on is to the 48 hour delay that impose when changing the bank information (from my name to the business name).  All the information is the same as well. They had said they just do the delay as a safety precaution. We suspect it should be lifted by tomorrow because that would be a little longer then the 48 hour period. If not, I'll just call again to triple verify everything is 100%. The customer service representative had said everything looked good, and just to wait
