We announced in our most recent Seller Update that we’ve revised some categories and item specifics to help make your listings easier to find on eBay and by external search engines.

Starting today, you’ll see updates to the following categories:

Business & Industrial (Sinks)

Collectibles & Toys

Electronics (Cameras)

Health & Beauty (Covid tests)

Home & Garden

Parts & Accessories (Wheels & Tires)

Sporting Goods (Golf & Cycling)

Watches

During this transition, your listing experience could be temporarily impacted, as well as the visibility of your listings. You may notice some item specifics changing names, listings moved to different categories, or some listings temporarily not appearing in searches.

Any affected listings should return to normal within a week, though some effects to listings’ visibility in searches may continue for up to three weeks.

Once these changes are complete, we recommend checking your listings in the above categories to see if any were affected. Learn more about category changes → please scroll down the page to see the links for the specific category changes.

We understand these updates will take extra time and may cause some frustration, but our goal is to help you increase your listings’ visibility and sales.

Oh, that's GREAT to know, I was wondering what had happened to over 60,000 Fenton Art Glass items. There were 110,000 listings yesterday, and today its 52,000. I surely knew that Ebay did not sell over 60,000 Fenton items overnight.

The last 3 days roughly my views have become NON EXISTANT not even a bump on newly listed items.

Sales have dropped to nearly ZERO or maybe 2 from the last 2 weeks of 5-15+ sales a day..

Some buyers have had ISSUES with even submitting their payments to where the sale is litterally ALMOST over from days elapsed.

Shipping VIA ebay standard envelope has DRASTICALLY been terrible. there are people who havent gotten their items even when the item says delivered. AND TAKES 3 DAYS for it to actually be delivered.

So long story short. THIS new "updated" is absolutely atrocious.

Young lady you appear to be a nice person. It also appears that you are swimming in the Kool Aid. This new process is a mess. The categories you are showing are not my category. However our eBay sales are down 60%. My impressions have always been between 1.4mil and 1.6mil. they are how hanging at 700K. I have a large part of my inventory is seen to us in Seller Hub however Buyers can't search them in order to purchase. Check with Rick A. he has been working on this problem. Rick let me know that your IT people said the problem is our listing was listed in the wrong category and that is why it could not be searched. Now I've been listing computer parts on eBay for 22+ years. I know my product and the correct categories and specifics to sell those products. Issue is your computer feel we should list the item in the wrong category in order to sell it. Well we did list it in the wrong category and low and behold it will search. You system has no clue about products only an idea. So now I am open to Buyers purchasing our CPU to use in there PC when the CPU is for an Enterprises system, meaning a server. This is how Buyers can give the Seller a negative and eBay state well you should have listed the part in the correct category. As a Seller how can I possible know what category your computer is going to allow Buyers to search our items. I have 4100 listing. You suggest to check them after all of this **bleep** settles. Do you have any idea how long or how much money it will take to do that?? My guess is you don't and no one on the eBay side of the fence gives a **bleep** about damaging the Sellers. When a Seller screws up all of your policies force us into line. When eBay screws up we keeping paying and eBay keeps plowing ahead as poorly as it can. Just a money drain mess.

You seem to think this is all about a down turn in business. I've been on the site for 22+ years selling computer parts. When times are hard like now my business accelerates. We have seen it go up 100-150% above normal sales. Our business on eBay for the past 6 months has declined. We are currently selling 60% less than normal average sales. Our impressions have declined from between 1.4mil and 1.6mil to 700K. All of this is clearly due to eBay forcing us Sellers to enjoy the new or newer or newest selling experience. All I know every time eBay gives me a new experience it feels like I've been mugged.

I feel your pain. Problem is eBay has no consideration for its Sellers. THEY JUST DON'T CARE IF YOU GO BROKE. They believe some other new Seller will come along and take your place. That works for awhile Until enough new pep[;e see the error of their ways in signing onto this cluster platform.

There is a reason stores put things you dont need in the aisles. IMPULSE BUYING!! By streamling search results we take away the buyer buying things they didnt know they wanted. I miscategorized item in search results here and there was a good thing. And what a nightmare it is when eBay picks a category for your search. How many times Ive seen small results for my search before I realized they had pigeon-holed me into a narrow category because that's what the assumed I was looking for. You can only imagine why the buyers arent finding our items. (sometimes the buyer doesnt know exactly what the items they are searching for are called)

My wife's account @patrisska drop in sale more than 60%, while having more active listings then ever. Please add her to the list. At this time of the year her sales should be much much higher compared to other years. Thanks

I am a relatively new seller to EBay--- and I thought it was just me when I was posting many items for several weeks and getting zero views plus sales have declined tremendously. I was thinking..... maybe I'm posting crappy albums that no one wants..but as I read through these posts, I think it's bigger than that. It doesn't sound like this is an account specific issue--- it sounds like a fix is needed. I sure hope they get this corrected-- or I may have to consider finding an alternate site to sell. I realize this will not be a popular suggestion...........but since the thread is about category/Is changes, I would like to suggest that the off topic comments be removed.....including the "I have no sales" posts......since the changes only began yesterday and presumably could not have had a impact on the lack of sales.

At the same time, hopefully, a thread could be started and pinned for the no sales comments.......so those can be separately evaluated......

I just fear that any problems/questions about the category changes are going to be buried.

I think you didn’t follow and it is wrong what you suggesting after it was requested . You suggested that all sellers reports be erased? How are they going to know ? They know that they need to report.
