Order did not get delivered because the buyer failed to update his address.
Buyer saying "Just send another one to..."
I guess he expects me to send him another one without even getting the first one back AND pay for a second shipping.
Wouldn't any "reasonable" customer/person realize that this would not be fair to the seller?
Now I have to try and figure out how to delicately word a response to the buyer so that he will understand without p-ing him off.

You are selling non-collectibles to the general public. Why does he want a second one free? Because that would work on Amazon! He doesn't see you as a fellow human to converse with, you are just the store... Amazon, Walmart etc. They wouldn't even investigate, they'd just replace the product.

That sounds like the USPS has attempted to deliver and it will sit for about 3 weeks before it will start the return process to the seller.
Was a signature required? What does Google map show the address to be? Possibly an empty lot or an unoccupied house?
Now the seller will not be able to see when the return starts on-line. When it does show up that the item is being returned to seller, it will be when the packaged has reached the seller local distribution hub. My guess this a security thing that USPS has implemented.
I have no idea what the item was, but being that the seller is located in Hawaii, shipping comes at a cost, so for the buyer to say ship me another to here for free is not a good idea.
ittybitnot gave some great advice on how to respond to the buyer.

So now you think I don't know the difference between the words Most and All. Give me a break.

I've actually called the post office that tracking shows and asked what the status is. They don't update tracking quickly in return cases, but it is possible it is being returned to you. It's better for you to talk to them then get a second hand message that may or may not be the case. Hopefully the post office will give you some details about where it is in the process.
Tell the customer that they will have to purchase the item again and that you will issue a full refund when the original one is received.

What "argument". A difference of opinions does not = an "argument".

There is no need to try and stir up trouble where there is none. Maybe take your own advice.

A difference of opinion is not stirring up trouble. Were it so, half your posts would be banned. 💌
