Seller Hub--Overview--Listings--Underperforming. Is this a new category? Clicked on a listing labeled underperforming and Ebay's point of reference is skewed. They compared a rather obscure Mikasa pattern to the totality of Mikasa listings sold. Result for a 28 day old listing is "competition has 100% greater chance of selling than mine". No recommendation for pricing because "due to limited data, we cannot make a price recommendation". I hope this isn't a new category that Ebay will use to cancel "underperforming" listings.

They are wasting time with their AI software, just like the recommendations they place on unsold items, eBay has a lack of buyers, that is the main problem, that is the intelligence notes they should be putting on your items.

We didnt find it to be of much help either. Almost seems like those are the listings that they are suggesting to put promotions on, but that's not easy, you can't just click select all and add to promotion. Hopefully it's helping some sellers anyways. Good luck to all!

Sellers hub, they should call it promoted listings hub, that would be more apt.

I don't like those. I had one underperforming listing when they first did this. They compared a nice vintage ring I was selling to a few pieces of junk jewelry that sold for very little. Their algorhythm doesn't consider the quality of an item.
I noticed today they started doing the underperforming again. It says I have 48 underperforming items, but doesn't list what they are. They are probably things that have been in the store for more than two months. Who knows? Collectibles often don't sell as quickly as electronics or household items. One thing to guard against is taking a loss by feeling pressured to lower prices too much. My profit is so small already that I would have to end a listing rather than lower the price more.

I tend to ignore that sort of thing. Heck, my one sale I have had so far on this account today would have been considering underperforming. I found the original pictures on my hard drive and noted that this Transformers Unicron first went up for sale here way back in 2013. It was just his time on the "carousel" finally for him to go to a new home.
What eBay calls underperforming items, I call items where the right person simply has not come along yet at the right time.

I think they use just the Al Gor(e) part of algorithm.

So this is being handled by Manbearpig? That make a lot more sense. "I'm being thuper therial here..."

When I was thrown into the hub a few weeks ago, I looked at this. There was a listing that said the competition had a 100% better chance of a sale than I did. The item it was referencing was the only one of it's kind on ebay. So yes, their AI on this is WAY off. The listing is getting views, so I know it's being seen at least a little bit.
I opted back out of the hub, because this is exactly the kind of useless information I don't want or need to see.

I now know I'm not going to be paying much attention to THAT little bit in HUB. I pretty much know how to price my merchandise by now.
I had one listing that popped up as *Underperforming*... I ignored that message. Item sold within a few more days.
I suppose it's always worth considering how your listing(s) is stacking up if you get a notice like that... adjust a bit if it now looks like you might be off a bit, but otherwise I kinda' like my listings just how they are.
