I was just seriously threatened by a buyer of a set of 2 puzzle books $8.35 including free first class shipping because ........ wait for it ......... the Post Office did not deliver it when eBay said they would. (Today).
That dang eBay has got to stop promising things it can't deliver.
Oh, what's that you say? eBay gave her an ESTIMATED delivery date? Shame on that eBay, such a kidder when it comes to estimating, making promises and insinuating guarantees of any type. Such fun riling up the buyers who do not understand the meaning of the word estimated. Or figured out how to manipulate the system and will try anything to their item for free.
Ahhh, you got to the appreciate the cheerfulness and good will the holiday season brings.
Quite honestly I feel so, so sorry for all USPS, UPS, FedEx and other delivery and processing personnel under extreme stress and deadlines to move mountains of packages. l was 18th in line at my local PO this afternoon with just one totally stressed out clerk trying her best amid complaints and ugly looks. Branch manager peeked out of his office twice but didn't lift a finger to help.
Lighten up people. Unless it's medicine you're out of, it's highly unlikely the world will stop if your package arrives a day or two later than you would like. And if waiting on a long line upsets you so much, ship your packages earlier next year.
Pass the Rum Punch, it's been a frazzling kind of day.

I like your light hearted attitude.
But eBay needs to do more in this moment. They set up a system where buyers feel entitled to act like this. Not enough proactive steps were taken and many sellers where hung out to dry.

Our accounts all went on "time away" today.
My internet was acting strange (satellite).
After over 2 hours, and not knowing when it would settle down I scurried off to the library 5 miles away to use the wi-fi to take an eBay vacay.
Did one account, and just as I finished, the battery that said 2 hours before I left home, displayed ready to shut down in 7 minutes, and the laptop shut itself down a minute later.
Fortunately the library that has limited hours was open today. They are going to "curbside only" again starting tomorrow.
No sales for us, but also no new buyers to be disappointed by delivery estimates.
We keep suggesting that if delivery estimates can not be extended..................
extend the time before an INR can be opened, but here we sit, caught in the middle.

Very Well Put!!! I've said it before on here, unless its life and death, a late delivery is a mere inconvenience. Get used to it folks, this is a tough time of year and with instore sales down 51%, where do you think the buying is happening...right...internet and that will require shipping...now factor in covid-19, so please folks, its not all about you and your package being delivered...what was the real meaning of Christmas?

I'm a Amazon fan and all 6 of my items are "On the way, but it may be late " . One item is a 90 minute drive from here and it has not moved in 5 days. It's a crazy time.

I believe the holidays actually brings out the WORST in many people. It's been an awful year, too on top of that, on many levels. But I don't see ebay doing much different.

I order from Amazon A LOT, and so far my deliveries have been on time--but Amazon has delivery drivers in my town, so there's no dependency on other carriers for that leg of the journey, anyway. (I'm not sure where all Amazon does its own deliveries.)

My "instate" Priority purchase spent 3 days at the regional facility about 70 miles away before they got around to sending it on. It arrived late.
I was not in a rush. The seller chose to use Priority Flat Rate for the 19 pound Zone 3 "free shipping" shipment. I did not know (or care) how it was shipping. Saw Priority on my "informed delivery" tracking.
Seller got a (+) feedback.

This is the season for late deliveries, & also item damage due to extremely rough package handling.
Improvement needed

In the not so distant past four to six weeks for delivery was the norm during normal non-holiday times.
Sometimes progress and speed aren't all they're cracked up to be - makes people far too impatient and rude.
We seem to be getting closer and closer to a situation where nobody is responsible for what they did but we are all responsible for what somebody else did. - Thomas Sowell

I wish my items were arriving a day or two late. I have packages that haven't moved in a week. Let the refunds begin. Canceling all new orders and closing my store until this passes . I have 15 packages that are late and cannot afford to refund them all knowing they get their items anyway. I'll pass on the rum. Nothing merry about this

Be nice to your postal clerk. Bring her a box of good chocolates.
Before Christmas.
I am not clear on USPS rules and standards (I use Canada Post) but I drop most of my packages and all of my envelopes into the red mailbox outside the post office or postal outlet(sub-contractor inside a shop) if they have shipping labels or are not being tracked (tracking here starts at $10 for same province delivery).
So I only have to go inside for the few I am tracking and paid with stamps rather than a label.
As I understand it, what the PO gives you is an acceptance scan on the spot, rather than at the terminal a few hours later?
Last time I was at the outlet which is in back of the pharmacy, the line outside was eight people long and the postal line was another five people long. Fortunately it was not raining or snowing and most people were chatting in a "Our parents managed the Blitz, this is nothing" manner. (It's an elderly community, at 74 I am the youngest in my writers' group, and there are a lot of immigrants.)

Assuming that you have already shipped the item, I purchased an item on the 4th that is supposed to arrive to me on the 11th. The seller hasn't even created a label for it yet. Also, this is a low volume seller. Who knows.

The Post Master (Donnie's boy who contributed to him for years and has no clue about USPS) and all upper management need cleaned out!
I don't know if USPS management gets bonuses or not, but you cannot run your staff thin and overworked to get your yearly bonus if so. A "happy work staff, is a productive work staff"
All carriers knew this was coming for the holidays with the virus! No excuses!
