Unauthorized Transaction - Buyer Wins, But Update from Reversal Cancelled

Hello! Has any Ebay seller had this occur to them? It's happened several times to me, and I am still a little perplexed!

An unauthorized transaction is opened on Nov 10, 2017 for a specific item that was purchased on Oct 22, 2017. Paypal places temporary hold on funds. Seller submits tracking information showing item is delivered. Paypal releases the funds (removes the temporary hold on funds) while they are disputing with financial institution on seller's behalf on Nov 11, 2017. The case is closed in the buyer's favor on Dec 11, 2017, and Paypal responds with this message:

After reviewing your info, we closed this case in the buyer’s favor. The transaction amount has been withdrawn from your PayPal Balance.

However, the funds are not withdrawn that I can see? When I search my Paypal activity, I see only three results for this particular transaction:

1. Payment from ---- Completed (Oct 22, 2017)

2. Temporary Hold ---- Removed (Nov 10, 2017)

3. Update from Reversal ---- Cancelled (Nov 11, 2017)

Is there anyway for me to see if the funds have truly been withdrawn? It's not a large amount (under $50). I just don't see a withdrawal made by Paypal for this transaction.

@kakp,

Go to your PayPal account and search through your transactions that are in green for funds received.  You might also try checking their resolution center, to see if the message you received was wrong, or that thecase was closed in your favor.  If it was and you still can't find the charge,  use the Help Button hen the Contact us button and call their CS dept, to see what has happened.

I think maybe you misread the message. It's rare for a seller to lose an UAC dispute if they qualify for seller protection (shipped to the address given by PayPal).

What you may have seen is the buyer won the actual cc dispute but you aren't out any funds as you were covered by PayPal.

Thank you for the quick & informative responses! I don't believe I am reading the message wrong. But perhaps Paypal sent me an incorrect message for the case decision? I was surprised initially that Paypal sided with the buyer since I did ship to the Paypal confirmed address and the package was delivered. Below are photos of what I'm seeing. The first photo shows Paypal's case decision while the second photo shows the transaction history for this particular order. It seems as if Paypal has not debited my account despite their message interestingly enough!Fullscreen capture 12142017 21404 AM.jpgFullscreen capture 12142017 21849 AM.jpg

Wow, I have never seen a seller lose an unauthorized chargeback when they had proof of shipping.  You are supposed to be covered by Paypal. Have you called them about it? If not, I would do so. If they haven't debited the money the email may be a mistake.

As I said, I have seen a pp message saying the chargeback itself was decided for the buyer (that's the case between the cc company and PP) but that -I- would not be charged as I was covered by seller protection.

Yes, but their email states the funds have been withdrawn  from their Paypal account, but OP states that the funds are still there.   I'd be calling Paypal to see if the email was a mistake.
