Did you mean:

Unable to reply to buyer's message.

Hi. I received and answered messages just fine this morning. Suddenly eBay says "You can't used this feature, because your account is on restriction." That's nonsense. I often buy thousands of dollars of merch a month and I less often sell that much.

No complaints. No quarrels. No warnings. No nothing. And it says I'm on restriction? Heck, I've been listing stuff this afternoon!! There is apparently no way to contact ebay by phone now

Any help out there?

Thanks,

Fred

It sounds like you exceeded the number of messages you can send per day or per person. I forget which it is. But there is a limit.

Looks like you've had a lot of high priced sales recently.  Sometimes Ebay will hold funds just to make sure the transaction is legit and that they turn out positive for both buyer and seller.

There is a way to contact ebay through social media:

https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/

These are credible US CS agents who work for ebay and may be able to help you with your issue.  Many positive posts here in their ability to help.

Good luck and hope things work out for you.

That's  so strange. I was coming here to ask about an issue I'm having with Messages. I'm responding to a potential buyer's question and get the notification that it was sent but it's not in my "Sent" messages - so far I've tried twice to respond but it still isn't showing up.

Maybe it's a glitch?

There's a LIMIT to messages you can send? What's the limit?

Thank you! I finally reached eBay seller support. I got a woman in India who was very nice as well as helpful. She told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my account. I can now respond to my buyer if I use Firefox instead of Google Chrome. It's still their issue, but it's an issue that's isolated to that browser. Thanks for getting back to me and I happy to report resolution.

@knifeguy2

Some choices:

  1. The person who starts the thread (you, in this case) can choose a specific post as the "solution." People can continue to post, but they will see that you consider it to be solved.  It doesn't appear, however, that anyone has actually posted the correct answer to your issue--it was solved by a customer service rep, not one of the participating posters. It's considered to be bad form to select your own post as the solution, as well.
  2. You may hover over the little down arrow in the upper right hand corner of any of your posts and select the very bottom one: Report Inappropriate Content. That takes you to a new message-box screen where you can simply request that the thread be closed. The moderator will (probably) lock the thread, and no one will be able to post any more comments.
  3. You can simply leave the thread open, and we'll go on and on and on replying forever with the same answers as a dozen other members have already posted. That's our favorite approach--overkill.

Glad this one got worked out for you!
