Unable to cancel sale due to unpaid because date sold keeps changing

Buyer never paid for an item he purchased even after numerous messages. Every time it gets close to the date I can cancel the date sold changes and gives the buyer more time. What is going on with this? Eventually I had to cancel with another reason. Buyers feedback shows numerous issues with unpaid purchases.

Re: Unable to cancel sale due to unpaid because date sold keeps changing

When someone gives a detailed response about what is going on and they have 0 feedback, who do you think they are?

@fastchas-h

They are people using "Posting IDs".  They are usually long time members with a lot of experience in how eBay works, and how things often change without their informing its users.   I use a posting ID.  The only reason it has any feedback at all is because I forgot and used it to buy things while still logged in.  Otherwise, it would be a ZERO, and I have been here 25 years.

Why a posting ID?  Because some members in the past who didn't like what was said messed with their listings. It is likely people that were vindictive in such a manner also accused the 'helper's' of being eBay employees instead of listening and/or disregarding what was said.

Many sellers use posting IDs to separate their sales from their posts, since in the past some users have disagreed with the opinions expressed here enough to interfere with auctions and listings.

And why wouldn't you blame EBAY developers after all the mess that's gone on. Why would you defend EBAY at this point?

The people being defended in this thread are not eBay developers, but users volunteering to answer questions about eBay and receiving abuse for it from you.

The only abuse is when an obvious bug is treated as OK. This is why nothing would get fixed properly. I at least contacted EBAY about this and said it was not OK instead of sit on a chat board and say it is OK. I do hope they fix it. If not, wake up and don't defend them. If you think this is 'abuse' you obviously are not suited for corporate times. The only abuse here is treating the messenger like they are evil. But this happens all the time on message boards, chat boards, social media. If we were in a board room you wouldn't last 5 minutes.

I don't believe anyone said it was OK, but rather informing you HOW IT IS.

There are many policies and procedures on eBay that are NOT OK.  It doesn't mean they don't exist anyway.  Though it is not always obvious to most users on eBay,  there was an old saying that "today's bug/glitch, is tomorrow's policy".    This happens all the time.  What appears to be a glitch is really an intended change.  Some of the more unsavory ones eBay bills as "enhancements" in the name of modernization, streamlining, and conforming with industry standards.  Others we only find out about by sharing information with others as the posters here are doing with you.

Re: Unable to cancel sale due to unpaid because date sold keeps changing

This happened to me also! Buyer bought 1 item on Monday ( no prompt payment) then bought another item on Thursday ( no prompt payment) asked to combine shipping on friday, I updated invoice Saturday. And now it’s Monday and still no payment but eBay says the items were sold on friday when invoice was updated. So now I have to wait 4 days from friday to cancel the order. This is so frustrating. Not doing business with this buyer again.

You're the only one here doing that.
