Has anyone noticed some pretty massive delays when shipping through USPS this month? I've shipped numerous items that seem to have gotten stuck somewhere in the eastern third of the US- KY, PA, NJ, NY, but everywhere else it seems to be fine, especially going west. I understand holiday delays, but these are delays of 7-10 days, with no updates, just "arrived at facility" on 6/15 with nothing since. I'm just trying to find out if I'm unlucky or if others have noticed this recently.

I had a buyer purchase a Tom Brady card on 6/17/22. He was excited about his purchase, so I made the effort to take it to the post office the same day. Yesterday, (6/23/22) I decided to check in, and make sure it arrived without incident...
Sadly, the only scan it shows is "Accepted June 17". It needs to go from Southern California to Texas.
6 days, no scans. It shows an expected date of June 28th! Really? Come on USPS. Sales are slow enough as it is. This level of service will not win me any repeat business from my customers, through no fault of my own.
One more example... I shipped someone a cool promotional NIN banner using USPS PRIORITY 2-DAY. I messaged him, let him know I insured his package, and that I paid to get it to him using 2-day Priority Mail. 5 days later, it was finally out for delivery. USPS told me they don't guarantee any Priority Mail service. Only the next day items. Thanks USPS!
Yes, I feel your pain

There were a lot of storms throughout where the hubs are, and a lot of planes were delayed/cancelled. They are probably still playing catch-up.

Right. USPS Priority Mail & First Class are carried by commercial airlines, most of who are suffering numerous cancellations. Bogs down everything. Then there's Memphis Processing, which is a black hole for a lot of mail.

Looks like you are shipping a lot of items with USPS Media Mail.
Media Mail packages are often subject to setting in a facility for days until there's room on a truck heading in the right direction.

No troubles in and out of Hawaii.

Funny you should mention Memphis- that's where some of my recent problems have been. I've even had a buyer in TN whose package went to Memphis, then for some reason moved on the NJ, where it's been for going on 6 days now. Another one on the way to KY went straight past it into Pittsburgh, where it's been for a whopping 10 days. I've ordered a package myself comin from NJ, where it sat until the latter end of the delivery window, only to see it pop up two days later in Florida (I'm in Texas, near the Dallas distribution center). Another package going to Mineral Wells, near DFW, got stuck in Dallas. It's unbelievable.

Yeah, I get that media mail is slow and can take its time, and I accept it. I use it for lower priced items like DVDs and books. It was just a sudden, sharp increase in transit time, specifically to the east, when north and west were moving along quickly. Someone else mentioned storms, so between that and Father's Day it probably explains it. It's too bad though because I'm about to have to start making some refunds to irritated customers who probably won't come back now.
