Now that USPS is doing away with the 3 tiered structure and making CommBase and CommBasePlus the same rates, what incentive is ebay going to offer TRS who have up to now received a larger discount (albeit not that much) on postal rates?
Anyone?

Ebay states that it negotiates with USPS for discounts, and that implies discounts greater than CommBasePlus. Think about it, the annual volumes required for CommBasePlus pricing are surpassed by Ebay on a daily basis. And for those of us who purchase postage through Ebay we do not even see CommBasePlus discounts. But I am a small seller so I can't complain.

There is no USPS price bracket called CommBasePlus. There's "Commercial Base" and "Commercial Plus." eBay Top Rated Sellers (and sellers who ship over 300 packages per month) pay the Commercial Plus rates for Priority Mail. The new USPS 2019 rates still use the terms "Commercial Base" and "Commercial Plus" for Priority Mail, and have separate charts for the prices, BUT the prices are identical.
For domestic postage rates, eBay charges the published commercial rates, with no evidence whatsoever that there is some better price. If eBay has negotiated a better rate, they are keeping the difference in their own pocket.

Oops, I mistyped. I knew that.
To the part I shaded red - what's the ^%$ point of that then? Why even bother having 2 columns? smh
I'd still like to know what ebay plans to give TRS (if anything) to replace the lost extra discount.

Given that we never seem to get "negotiated" rates any different to any other online postage vendor, I venture to say they couldn't negotiate their way out of a wet paper bag. Hoping one year they'll prove me wrong.

My hunch is nothing. Just like when ebay lowered their TRS+ discount from 20% to 10%. They did nothing in other areas of TRS benefits to "recuperate" that loss.

That is what some members say, not Ebay. Ebay nor any other online provider of USPS postage can negotiate Domestic First Class Parcel rates. USPS does not allow it. That is why ALL online providers of USPS FCP domestic have ALL the same rates. The commercial plus is the best rate that USPS will allow.
Now Ebay has negotiated the USPS FCP International rates as USPS allows for that. And Ebay did a better job than some of the other online postage providers for these rates. Currently Ebay FCP International is 13-14% lower.
So there are some rates that USPS allows negotiations on and some they don't.

In fact, they have done everything they possibly can to hinder growth IMO. Ebay at best, is now a wonky web site that NEVER works to it`s full potential for buyers or sellers. Search is completely whacked. Every new page they create adds extra clicks and "busy work" while removing popular features and adding un-needed features. I could go on and on.
Ebay, Amazon, USPS, The Government, etc. all greedy enough to tax small sellers out of the ecommerce marketplace. Every year the little guy gets squeezed a little more. Is it me? I`m starting to think I`m unwanted.

The change, one presumes, would also affect Stamps.com, etc so I would watch what they say/do also......... If they can offer a bigger discount, alot of sellers will switch.......which, is going to cut Ebay off from alot of revenue, if they will still get any discount at all.............

Well you're certainly right there. It seems once they realised how BIG ecommerce was going to be they wanted all the little guys who got it going out or at least squeeze as much as they could out of the smaller guys.

I'm sure there will a lot switching to other vendors as more sellers are co-opted into MP where they still have to pay for labels through PP.
If your funds are going to a bank account, easier to just use stamps.com or whoever to pay for the labels from the same source. That wasn't exactly thought out well either.
