This is not a thread for rate discussion.
I've been selling for about 4 years and ship exclusively USPS
Not 1 lost package. Only 1 damaged. Not 1 late delivery.
My Postal Carrier picks up daily and scans each and every package.
Now I see this 🙂 Item was shipped ground advantage from Virginia!

The problem is that GA is a gamble when shipping to HI.
Sometimes it hitchs a ride if there is room with priority packages.
If there is no room it will go by boat and take 2-3 weeks.
So sure that package went fast. But it's not reliable and you don't want to deal with an INR when it's stuck on a row boat because you will lose both item and money.

When I sold, I used USPS exclusively, too. I did nothing but sing their praises for years. Good post!

For ground, it made pretty good time.

We use USPS exclusively, and rarely do we have any trouble. I can't even remember the last time we had to refund someone for late/non-delivery, and we usually use Media Mail, which is even slower than Ground Advantage in most cases (though we often see similar actual delivery times to what's quoted for GA).
Agreed with others that it's usually going to take longer to somewhere like Hawaii, anywhere that it can't go by land either quickly or at all.

I honestly don't think there is a difference between Media Mail and Ground Advantage.
I think that is part of the reason the USPS has brought up the prices where even GA cubic is cheaper than Media Mail.
It was slower when Parcel Select/Retail Ground was a thing. But since that was eliminated Media Mail delivery expectation for me has been the same as Ground Advantage.

The rest of the OP's post says that four years of using the USPS exclusively has resulted in no lost packages and no late deliveries.
My experience with the USPS is similar to the OP's. Only a handful of issues in 20 years.

If the OP can't prove that then I will just take it as an over exaggeration.
We are talking about GA, that isn't even a year old.
How many shipments to HI has the OP done with this new service?
Let me post a screen shot of a singular shipment and claim reliability of a service.
Even the USPS website says that non continental locations will take upto 26 days.
If the package is 1 lb or less it will probably always go by air.
If over 1 lb then it will typically go by boat.

You’ve gotta be kidding me. USPS has been a complete disaster for me. Many of my packages get sent to Freight Forwarding companies which has opened up the door for constant loss, aggravation, hours of lost time. And what results is the usps protecting itself from insurance payouts by use of cunning, meanwhile throwing sellers under the bus. The usps is THAT bad.

I only do USPS...sometimes 'certified' and 'registered' and just 'parcel' as well as no tracking.
Never had anything lost...damaged...usually very fast without tracking 4-5 days.
But then again, I prefer to mail my items 'in person' so I have no additional charges...everything that is suppose to be scanned and so on.
I can't believe how many sellers here 'cry' about a delivery(s).
I can also walk to a UPS or FedEx to delivery something as well if needed.
Perfect setting of a place to live in I suppose...my post office is 8 blocks away as well...and perfect weather.
Thank you USPS...for doing a great job!

Ditto.

I've had three or four to HI since GA was implemented and they all arrived within a week. One of them was definitely over 1 lb, too.

you are lucky to have such a carrier

@kandf_vintage_finds
Thanks for the post. When I first read it, I thought "Was the package supposed to go to Hawaii?" LOL...
I am moving to VA at the end of the month and looking for a respite in the weird service in FL. In FL, you never know where your package is going to end of half the time.... I have an excellent carrier that scans them all in, but after that it is really no telling. A package going 15 miles away often is sent on a trip to four or five cities/sorting facilities around the state, then a stint out of state before it comes back. You give me hope for VA!

In over 25 years, I've had 2 pkgs go missing. IIRC, one showed up very delayed, after Xmas.
I've used almost exclusively GA since it's been avl & that includes quite a few times to HI. Have had 0 problems with GA. My pkgs all still arrive in 2-3 days, just like they did with FC/Priority.
Now pickups are a completely different story & I've had struggles with that for over 25 years, which get worse each year. But I have a PO that's busier than all the other PO's in my city combined & they think they are above the rules.
