Gave in a registered mail package 11,23,2018 to my NYC post office.
All is ever said for tracking is “in transit”
Still in transit.
Call US post office 1800 number.
Had plenty of options but NO live person can came to phone.
Said to speak to a representative it’s more than 1 hour wait time.

but its the ebay way. If you sit down and look at each problem you encounter you'll find out its mostly a ebay generated problem....

Perhaps a theory !
Reality
Where did my registered mail article go ?
& Why was no delivery scan ever recorded !
USPS has provided no answer
Now I am not saying your package was lost.
what I am saying is I get a lot of packages. And often times I get the initial scan and the ending scan and absolutely nothing in the middle.
My last package took 10 days. No tracking until the last day when it all updated at once.
This has happened many times with usps.

So now the sellers will get dinged by e bay because of the USPS flub ups and late deliveries ? 😞
Yes and no, No you will not get a late delivery ding, if you got it in the mail and scanned in the time frame you agreed to, you are protected as a seller on that. Yes, you will get dinged if the carrier does not scan your packages. We have taken to driving our afternoon shipments to the Post Office and Standing in line to ensure they are scanned. Our regular Store Mail Carrier he knows we need it done and there is no problem. It is only New Sub Carriers that get us. Usually a few times a year, though we keep a list of those tracking numbers and give them to our Normal Guy and he gets them fixed.

In this case, yes. Ebay is being too rigid in not understanding that during various natural disasters or holiday season, things are going to slow down.
And yes sometimes these drivers take shortcuts trying to get everything in the truck delivered, In my case they never replaced my postal worker who retired, so other drivers finish their routes then do mine. They are delivering in the dark. And cannot go home until the truck is empty.
So it is partly the postal service as well because they know they do not have enough workers delivering the mail.
And while I hold my breath waiting for that to happen, I have increased my handling time by 3 days.

I am on the East Coast.
No problems here with weather beyond it being really cold.

Postal service isn't working to ebay standards?

Come on guys!
Give the USPS, Fedex, UPS, and whatnot a break.
You and I, and he and she, are looking at our packages to be delivered at the same time. Somebody has to be the first one to be served.
It is going to get worser, as my kids say, than better.
2 packages of mine in the media category, no track since Monday or Tuesday.
They will get there.

So if OP would have snagged a hothead package was suppose to be there Monday and wasn't buyer opened a dispute for $1200.00 Monday evening and escalated today and closed and awarded to buyer OP should just give USPS a break and accept the $1200.00 loss? I don't think expecting to get the service you were promised and paid for should be to much to expect...

You can sign up online for transit updates. That might help.

I see it that way as well . These obvious self serving rules for sellers they come with are totally unfair. To punish sellers for shipping delays caused by the post office and the holiday rush are appalling and an ''excuse ''. Tulips

Maybe they should spank them instead ? I get my orders out the next business day ,, always . So now I'm going to be in trouble with e bay because our probably very overworked postal carrier never scanned them ? Just dandy 😞

Registered Mail is very safe and a good option for high value items, like coins and jewelry. However, it is slow. The last registered shipment I sent to the West coast took over a week. Ebay dinged me for a late shipment even though it was mailed the next day.
It really burns me up when we do EVERYTHING right that we possibly can and e bay still thinks its okay to punish us when things go wrong that are completely out of our control . Tulips
