Ty beanie boo manufacture errors question

Just a question i need an answer to.  Can a seller sell a TY beanie baby product they know that it is a manufacture error but they dont list it as such and they list it as new because its not been played with.?   The swing tags were removed and tush tags cut off but the seller is listing them like i said as new and no mention they are manufacture errors although it does state no swing tag or tush tag in their listing description.  And selling them as a regular price.  Can a seller do this?    I am not the seller but the buyer.

Unfortunately i have found out they cannot be authenticated because there is no way to know whether the swing and tush tags were removed later.  I guess as a buyer i would want to know up front on the seller’s listing these are manufacture errors or rejects.   Someone told me TY would not allow these to be resold.  Anyways someone did literally cut the tush tags and removed the swing tags, when and where is the question but the fact is the seller said nothing about these were manufactor errors so as a buyer i learned something new. Lesson learned. Thanks for your response!

Anyway~~ (sorry but there is no S on the end of that word)

It's great that you learned something from this experience, though, that makes you a wiser buyer.  You can now add that to the buyer's due diligence you do before buying anything.  That is a good thing to, as it is for your protection.

Wishing you great purchases!

No what i am asking bottom line question is if the seller KNOWS these are manufacture errors but do not state that on their listing so the buyer knows what they are buying, can the seller leave that particular information out?  Are they obligated to let the buyer know that these are manufacturer errors?  That is my question.  That is all i was asking.  If they don’t have to then its buyer beware.  Sorry was not trying to be confusing at all.

The key word here is IF.  The seller may have no more idea that this is a manufacturer's error than you do.  Often a manufacturer's error can make an item MORE valuable.  That is why buyers do due diligence.

You are  more than welcome, and it has been a true pleasure!  Many that come to the Board are not as reasonable and pleasant as you have been, and you can be proud of how great this discussion has gone.

There is a lot of "Flawed" and "Misprint" beanies for sale on here for waaayyy to much money. It's the latest scam. There are very few of them worth anything, $1-$10. There are value sites you can find on google. Don't fall or bid on these sellers. I have researched and there is not one on Ebay that is worth hundreds or thousands of dollers, not one.

Considering the Beanie Boo line is pretty much worthless, usually far under original retail, this sounds like an issue not even worth spending more than a couple synapses on.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

I don't know beanies but I do know my head hurts.

This one does make the head spin.  I think the OP was upset that the seller didn't describe the beanie as an oddity, since it turned out to not be an oddity as the buyer had hoped for.

When dealing with plushie toys of any type, I always do it on the assumption that there originally was a hang tag and a butt tag.  If there are neither, I say so.  If there is one but no other, I also say so.  And if I neglect to mention it either way, then the pictures do the talking loud and clear.  Pretty simple rocket surgery really.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

Not like they used to, perhaps, but there will always be collectors for anything and everything.

Just as an FYI, the Beanie Boos are not actual Beanies.  They are normal plushies around 10 inches in size made by Ty, about the same quality as Webkinz.  But they are typically even more worthless than the majority of actual Beanie Babies.
