Two Different Shipping Rates Listed for Same Zip Code

When logged in and search for my posted listing, the BIN price and a shipping rate of $14.92 shows.

When the listing is then opened, a different shipping rate of $9.94 shows, for my zip code.

Why are there 2 different shipping rates ? ? ?

Too make matters even more confusing, using the ebay shipping calculator shows $9.97

We live in the backwoods of south east Ohio and when you enter our zip code it ask which of the 3 we are, even though it is all the same zip.

Really...the deer get their own zip code and the coons get the other?

Logged in using my friend's account, same zip as mine, and the posting list(without opening the listing, has a third different shipping rate of $11.12.
When opened shows the same $9.97.

I also see the different prices for your listing. About $2 less to Zone 3 after clicking on the listing

This was using the Calculated shipping. Very buggy system this is.

Changed all to flat same rate shipping. Prolly what ebay whats you to do, that and free shipping.

Limit your choices.

Your "flat rate" shipping is coming in at $4-6 less than the FedEx calculated shipping that was on the listing.

Ill lose money on shipping. Oh well, need to sell, sell, sell...

Eventually, shipping will get so high, selling will make a full circle, back to advertising in the Penny Shopper.

I would check the shipping on the USPS site calculated for zone 8 and then use fix rate shipping on eBay based on the USPS figure for the type of shipping you plan to use.  Of course, you can use another zone if you think that it is unlikely to be bought by someone in zone 8.  You will need the exact shipping weight for the calculations though and don't forget to factor in the cost of shipping materials.

I would recommend if you are using Priority Mail to use the PM variable rate when calculating.  You can always use PM Flat Rate or regional boxes if they save you money and the buyer cannot complain that it wasn't sent by the right method.  Priority Mail is Priority Mail.

Of course, if the shipping weight permits, I would calculate using First Class Package.   And if the package for some reason reason can't go by air, be sure to use the correct method in you listings.

That usually happens with Fed Ex SmartPost. It gets fixed, then keeps coming back.

Yea, took away calculated because it cant be trusted.

I try to split the difference in flat between west and east coast.

IE... 98101-Seattle and 08008 NJ
