Turbo crashing

When I try to download the program updates by Turbo crashes.  I have tried this in my new compter with Windows 10 and my old one with Windows 10.  Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Re: Turbo crashing

I'm on Win7 and mine crashes when updating too.

Oddly, it goes through the install and crashes at the very end. I closed the program, waited a minute and reopened it. Although it crashed, the things that needed updating like Item Specifics fields are there.

I've done some Store Category shuffling, and although it crashes, the changes take. Weird.

Re: Turbo crashing

Turbolister? Far as I know it's no longer supported, so it may not be compatible with Win10.

What program updates?  I thought TurboLister was not being supported or updated by eBay anymore... that we could still use it, but nothing about it beyond what it currently IS

Re: Turbo crashing

I've been running it on Windows 10 since Windows 10 came out.

Yes., it is still available and still getting a few Program Updates (some just recently) and usually Data Updates pretty regularly.

You have to run it as Administrator to get the Program Updates.

Current version is 9.923.101.0. I got that one on July 16.

You may have to uncheck any Data Updates to get the Program Updates to download and install.

Re: Turbo crashing

If you add or change a category in your store listings you can update TL and it will add that info into your TL program.

Did it recently, no problem.

@vintagebev

TL is like an old man in a nursing home, you never know when the "angel of death" will show up.

It's a clunky old program, but many of us like it, I do.

I think it's like Micro Soft, when they stop support, just let it fade away.

Win 98 was the last OS that was easy to use.  (XP was not bad )

Check for updates, I know 8.1 had issues, 10 would crash TL. and a flash update, crashed.

I read the tools and apps board, but nothing about this for a bit.

Every new version of an os has glitches.

Re: Turbo crashing

Thanks for the info here!  I run my TurboLister on Windows 10 too, but have it mostly as a storehouse for past listings from years back.  I use the HUB for listing now.

Good to know a bit of TL is still updating, etc. for those who continue to use it.

Re: Turbo crashing

@vintagebev

Oh, and if you do find the update page, do them one at a time.

I tried to do 6 months of updates, my computer ran for 3 days, never updated.

Re: Turbo crashing

After you list items, it asks if you want to update.  I always say yes and back up my files.  When I try to intall the updates, it crashes.

Re: Turbo crashing

I read that they are no longer supporting this, could that be why?

That's what I thought might be the answer to her problem with TL, but some here are saying TurboLister is still updating for them, so... don't kow.

Re: Turbo crashing

That no longer supporting it got pushed back because they can't apparently figure out how to get Turbo's "functionality' into the Hub

Re: Turbo crashing

I'm still amazed they didn't just put some $$ into updating Turbo and then charging a nominal fee for it's use.

For a company which loves to squeeze sellers for every bent nickel they can, they sure love to throw money away.

I had the same problem with crashing after getting a new laptop.  Doing the Program Updates separately from the Data Updates as suggested here worked for me.

There is no way they will ever get Turbo's functionality into The Hub, it's a pipe dream.

Turbo will save your old listings for as long as you want.

This is real handy, I just found a second of an item I sold 3 years ago.

I can be relisted in nothing flat.

I had 30 differen Timken bearings to list.

I make a basic listing, sans PN and price, but all other info.

Then just hit duplicate, boom, just like that I have 30 pre filled ready to go listings.

Just add PN and price, and I am ready to roll.

The way it is now ebay only keeps your sold items for 60-90 days.  then purge.

And I think on ebay you are limited, to the numbers of draft items, and I think they purge also.

ebay will never add the server space to keep this info on file for all sellers, for life.

If ebay fixed the TL glitches, I would gladly pay a nominal fee.

But only on a month by month basis.

I do most of my listing in the winter, and slow down in the summer.
