Trust and Safety Team Strikes again! Help...

Ebay has once again restricted our account.. Here is their new message:

"

Your account has been restricted because activity on it didn't follow our Counterfeit item policy. We don’t allow counterfeit items, replicas, or unauthorized copies.

What activity didn't follow the policy

This item may not be sold because we are unable to confirm its authenticity."

Please pay special attention to the last lines "unable to confirm its authenticity". It certainly does not mean we are selling counterfeit items, they simply cannot confirm it. Why do they need to confirm it when there has been no complaint on it? Also, we absolutely can confirm its' authenticity had they asked. Instead they have issued a 7 day restriction on our account. I think they must hate the $400,000 that we pay them yearly to sell on their site. I know we are not their biggest Seller by any means but we certainly are not the smallest. Oh and by the way, all three of our stores are Top Rated!!! We do not sell counterfeits!!!

Their "Trust and Safety Team" is out of control and hurting not only my profits and employees but their profits as well. Has anyone else had this team simply on their own authority state an item you are selling is counterfeit and issue a restriction?

Part of it can be the poor feedback you have been receiving.  You need to refund and head off that kind of feedback.  Far too many say the items were fake.  That can call attention to your account like sharks to blood.

@charshealthybeauty

What exactly did ebay state was counterfeit?  You are selling lots of items that I see in overstock all the time. It's not high dollar like Rolex or Louis Vuitton.   I don't understand their reasoning.

"Ebay has once again restricted our account."

Once Again ??
In that last sentence: "This item may not be sold because we are unable to confirm its authenticity" did eBay specify which item was the problem?

I ask because I am unfamiliar with eBay's selling restrictions.  Neither I nor my selling ID have ever received one.

If eBay did tell you which item, why not just remove that listing?  I mean, you've got over 11,000 other listings on that ID.  Removing One Thing will probably not adversely affect your employees or your profits.

When you play on eBay's field, it certainly seems wise to follow eBay's rules.

@ckimodog You are right they are selling relatively "big box" brand overstock items but honestly sometimes ebay gets it wrong and don't know what triggers it. I once received a counterfeit take down for 1 yes 1 kids Roblox hoodie that was $16 with shipping.

@charshealthybeauty I'm curious too what item they claimed was counterfeit?

^^^^^^^Evidently it isn't that account that is suspended. I can still see everything and I think I could purchase if I wanted too.

I do not get it either. We have an actual authentication on this specific item. It is really weird.

Re: Trust and Safety Team Strikes again! Help...

This is a completely different item. We had to fight Ebay's Safety Team to get the first one removed (which they did after a week or so). I would completely understand (until I could prove it legit) if someone reported it as counterfeit, but no one did. Ebay took it upon themselves and are completely in the wrong.

I have seen Ebay do this type of stuff before. It is almost like they want to be like Amazon. That is truly sad because Amazon is a cesspool of China garbage.

It was a Fear of God shirt that has been authenticated. I will get it removed but I am down for a few days to a week and dealing with their employees in the Philippines does not make it any easier. Not sure why they (Ebay) would send our monies overseas....

Re: Trust and Safety Team Strikes again! Help...

We are restricted from listing anything new. I have 12 employees. What do I tell them? If Ebay's employees showed up one day for work and the electric Company turned off their power by accident and told them "Oh well, we will handle it in a week or so.." how would that go over?

Absolutely!

We are 99.5%

We do not roll over for scammers and the Ebay world would be much better if others did not as well.

They weren't talking about the %, but the feedback claiming the items were fake.

Have a great day.

Re: Trust and Safety Team Strikes again! Help...

I get that. We are a liquidation Company. We do not buy from distributors as most Sellers on this site do, which is why we list almost ALL of our items as used even though they are still factory sealed. We do this to protect our account against Vero violations etc. We sell at substantially discounted prices.

We verify all of our items before listing them! Maybe it is just our business model or the volume that we do that we get those kind of claims. We stand behind our products and if anyone has a claim of in authenticity, we are happy to return as long as it is in the original condition.

simba6.

I completely agree but... If there is a complaint and you simply refund the Buyer, Ebay also looks at that as if you are guilty and that can hurt your account as well. This has actually happened or I would not bring it up.
