Tracking number shows as "Not Trackable" on USPS

I dropped a package off at my post office today. It was priority mail and I received a receipt from the employee. However, it has a status I've never seen before. When I search the tracking number on USPS it shows in red and says " Not Trackable, Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site". Its been 24+ hours and like I said, I waited in line and watched them scan the package in. I've never seen anything like this and this peice of mail was particularly expensive. Does anyone know what could cause this? Thanks for any info or suggestions on what to do. Attached is a picture from USPS.

1. Did you verify no typo on the tracking number you entered?

2. You said dropped off "today" then later said "it's been 24+ hours" - both can't be correct, but if you dropped it off today then it's been less than 24 hours and I'd give it more time.

3. Where did you purchase the label and what shipping service was used? If you purchased an eBay International Standard Delivery label for an international shipment and the tracking begins with ESUS, you cannot track that at the USPS website. You can track it here though: https://parcelsapp.com/en

To clarify on EISD: it gets 3 tracking numbers throughout the journey. The ESUS number is a consolidated number, like an umbrella under which sub-tracking is attached. Under that umbrella will be the USPS number and the later-assigned international tracking number.

So you can ship Priority to a local hub in the US, but if you're trying to enter the ESUS number on USPS it won't work.

I had it happen once and tracking worked the next day. IIRC, I was checking tracking on my item in the wee hours and I believe the USPS site was being updated. 

I'd try in the morning.
