I have a buyer in Budapest freaking out because their item has not arrived yet. I completely forgot about this sale as I shipped it the first week of February to Budapest where the buyer lives and hadn't heard from them since/wasn't checking the tracking myself. I just checked the tracking and the last entry was on Feb 21 saying that it was "In transit in Budapest."
There's a huge language barrier with the customer and they aren't really understanding my messages back to them explaining that they have to check the tracking/call their postal service because I don't have any control over the pacakge at this point. Does anyone know what could be wrong? It was a pair of sunglasses so I don't see why the package would be detained at customs or anything like that. It went from Warsaw to Budapest and then just stopped updating on Feb 21.

You have online tracking outside the U.S. to Budapest?

Depending on the estimated delivery date, with no proof of delivery, if the buyer opens an inr he will win the case.

Just sent you a message.

You could try calling the USPS international helpline. They will probably tell you they cannot help you but they might see more than you do.
Other than that, sadly, the Hungarian post is understaffed and has a bunch of less-than-honest workers and major delays are common. Over the holidays they actually issued a statement saying that they would have no issues/delays if only people stopped sending so many packages (yes, really!).

Hungary participates in USPS e-delcon service.
