Tracking - Trading Card Standard Envelope

Hello,

I started using the standard envelope shipping for my trading card sales and noticed many packages never end up showing they’re delivered. I’m really hoping this is just USPS not updating the tracking information and I have noticed positive feedback on items that still are showing as “in transit”. It really doesn’t give me much assurance using this shipping option though.

Anyone notice the same thing or maybe it’s the recent Midwest storms?

Thank you

I wouldn't expect them to show "delivered" in the tracking, only the last point where it went thru a sorting machine, usually the one where you get the image sent to you for daily deliveries to your location "USPS Informed Delivery" which is the last machine it goes thru when sorted for delivery.  The mailman won't and can't scan them.

Yes myself I have several that still show in transit and cannot get current tracking. I attempted to file a claim with ebay for lost item but have to wait 30 days to file claim.

I ended all my listings using the new standard envelope. Ebay has screwed this up and the sellers are responsible. Out of nearly 100 envelopes sent over half either haven't been delivered, or scanned, or updated. It takes at least 2 weeks for delivery and many cases up to a month.

Way to go ebay. Sticking it to the sellers as usual.

So here is the deal in practice.  These still need to be SCANNED.  In rural post offices they do no have the technology to scan these.  In mid sized cities they have to manually scan them.  When they do it asks for the zip code and for you to confirm that there is nothing liquid, fragile, or perishable on the keypad every time.  if you do not stand over them for 98 minutes to send your 115 envelopes you will drop from 99.8% to 96.4% on your scanned items percent (under 95% you lose top rated - under 90% you cannot sell for a while).  Michelle at eBay was wonderful at telling me most of this information as well.  However, when asked if eBay was going to help sellers with this matter and support us because this great idea cannot be found workable with the Post Office, she will not call me nor will anyone else with an answer other than "We really are not sure" (in other words NO).

My post master tells me that this has to happen on the other end OR it will not show up as delivered.  I would highly recommend going back to regular first class shipping till they get this fiasco figured out.  It reminds me of the early days of Managed Payments and a well know line from Meet the Robinsons:  "I have little bitty arms and a great big head....this plan wasn't well thought out."

I lost my Top Rated Seller rating due to eBay's trading card shipping. I had 6 packages that ended up not being delivered. I took the cases to eBay's resolution center in hopes they would side with me the seller but like always they side with the buyer. I opened a trace request and one item was delivered but it was out of the 30-day window that eBay gives for appeals. I have since been trying to restore my seller rating for the past six months. I have had more than 400 transactions in a quater. My question is there a way to change my look-back period?

There is a lot of confusion between packages with actual tracking barcodes (which can be scanned for Acceptance, Delivery, and at every waypoint in between), and eBay standard envelopes with routing codes, which can only be scanned by automated routing equipment along the way (as that was the original purpose of the routing codes). The standard envelopes cannot be scanned for Acceptance or Delivery because there is no tracking barcode to scan.

A buyer can claim non-delivery (either real or fictitious) for an eBay standard envelope, and the seller has no recourse except to refund in order to close out an Item Not Received dispute. The seller can then seek restitution from eBay for his loss, up to $20 (I think).

Also make sure you are not putting tap over the Bar code right above the recipient name.
