Tracking Not Updated...

Morning. I am a Top Rated seller and have a quick question. I had a few recent orders where the buyer bought an item and paid and then messaged me requesting that I cancel the order prior to shipping. I in turn canceled the order at the buyers request prior to shipping and refunded all monies paid. I noted the order was cancelled at the buyers request. All this was done through eBay including the messaging system so there is a record of all communication. I noticed that I have 5 dings for "not uploading tracking info at all" and it ties back to these 5 orders. It makes no sense to ship the item then absorb the return and possibly negative feedback because the buyer asked me to cancel and I chose to ship instead. It also makes no sense for eBay to ding me for items I don't ship when they can clearly see why I did not ship. Unless I'm mistaken the buyer can not initiate or requested to cancel once paying outside of messaging me. I called eBay to review and I'm not sure person I spoke to even knows they work for ebay. I have to be missing something here. Any insight?

Re: Tracking Not Updated...

Customer service is located overseas.  Some in the Philippines...some in India.  At times there can be a language barrier.

This is the link I would go to help; https://www.facebook.com/ebay/

These are US agents and lots of positive results are posted about them and their abilities to help you.  Good luck.

Re: Tracking Not Updated...

I agree with @ckimodog to use eBay for business on Facebook

All you will get from a CS callback on eBay will be:

1.  I have escalated this for you

2. I have put a note on you're account

3. You should hear back in 24-48 hours

4. Yada-Yada

Re: Tracking Not Updated...

hI @allkindsofstuffforyou ,

Post this issue on today's Weekly Discussion so the eBay Support team is made aware of it (if they already aren't).  This is a technical issue with Seller Hub not updating in a timely manner ... I've seen other issues with the site taking days or weeks to update information OR NOT deleting items that it should ...

1. When an Unpaid item is Cancelled the transaction stays on the Feedback required list for weeks (it may wind up being months) ... I still have 3 listed and using the "X" on them does not delete them

2. The Bell count for items awaiting shipping is one off from the actual number, they seem to be late in dropping items that have their labels printed not to mentioned DELIVERED to the Buyer ... NOTE on the pic below, the bottom item is the same but the displays are over a week apart ... I think this started about the time of the new Category reshuffling and Item Specific mandate (Oct 12).  And yes, I have used the Comments link on the page to no avail ...

There have been an assortment of reports on dot ca regarding shipments not updating over the last few years. It's been "looked into" supposedly but there never has been a good answer as to the why or if would ever be fixed. Most of it has to do with the various postal services(CP/USPS etc) and eBay not being in real time or the data not getting sent at all. It was re pushed up the flagpole about a month ago with examples etc but to date no follow up. Similar to when something is delivered or delayed, when an order is cancelled the system(s) in theory all should correctly update.

Re: Tracking Not Updated...

eBay found out a way to dump a 10% off TRSeller and this is what they came up with.

Systems not being in synch and they deliberately do not update, therefore, the seller gets dinged.
