I have had to cancel auctions due to non-paying zero feedback new users. And then Ebay charges fees! I am more than confident that Ebay is being overwhelmed by bogus Buyers......way.....too.....many.....
I have reduced my usage of Ebay to the bare minimum and now prefer Facebook Marketplace.

These are the tools/options eBay provides to reduce the number of nonpaying transactions:
If you're unable or unwilling to use any of the tools available, perhaps a different platform would better serve your needs.

I an aware of and have implemented all of these Ebay "solutions". They are insufficient. For instance, Sellers should be permitted to block Zero feedback Buyers because too many of them are fraudulent. I don't sell outside the continetal US and yet Ebay continues to allow Buyers to bid whose profiles state "Based in Mexico". I have one item that is in its THIRD auction because of zero feedback non-payers after 4 days. It's just getting to be a waste of time. Ebay should require immediate payment on EVERY auction......why not, because every other seller on the interent does. Ebay continues to be Pro-Buyer and Anti-Seller. Been using Ebay for 20 years.....I know.

If a buyer hasn’t paid within 4 days, on the 5th day you can go to your Seller Hub to cancel the transaction using the “Buyer hasn't paid” reason and this gives the buyer a strike and you can relist. In future to have eBay automatically cancel your transactions due to non-payment:
Go here: https://www.ebay.com/Cancel/Preference/UnpaidPurchase
Set your blanket blocks to 2 UPI strikes in 12 months

If you were to block "zero feedback" buyers you would be blocking LEGITIMATE buyers. There are such things as Guest Accounts where you don't have to have an actual account.
We were all zero feedback at one time.

Guess you've solved your own problem, then.
Good luck on Facebook Marketplace.

I thought if you cancelled an order for non payment that you didn't pay fees. I had someone try to buy something from me, they emailed me and asked for my paypal info....I was suspicious so I called ebay...the operator that I talked to walked me through how to cancel the order so that it didn't go against me. I didn't get charged by ebay....but my frustration is when I had to cancel an order and I got charged 30 cents twice because the buyer had paid. It used to happen a lot when it was paypal, now it's only happened once since it switched to ebay managed payments. if an order gets cancelled, why do I have to pay for it. i also called ebay when they charged me final value fees on unpaid items, I got them refunded.....I dunno....for every legitimate operation there is a scam attached somewhere!
Good luck!

Yes, I have scammers THAT I HAVE BLOCKED, sign up for a new user name so they can purchase again. EBAY needs to prevent users from chaning their user name more than once a year by keeping track of the IP address they use. Better yet, keep their past Ebay name linked to the account, even if we do not see it visualy. Lots of kiddies playing on EBAY with no intention to pay... and this topic is ABSENT on the choice to turn in a buyer. A seller blocking a buyer should be permanent, not the opporturnity for buyers to change their screen names. Real simple, instead of doing all kinds of things noone has asked for

I think blocking Non payers is a MUST-DO. I give all buyers way past four days to make sure they have every opporutnity to pay. If there is no communication either, that is someone to block. These people only disrupt auction-style selling.

Most all non-paying buyers I have experienced had zero feedback. Why is that? Must be a reason.

Having to relist because of non-paying buyers eats up time and resources. My point to all this is that EBay needs to strengthen its Buyer Requirements to allow Sellers to weed out more buyers “automatically”. If a Seller is allowed to cancel any buyer’s bid then I don’t understand why EBay doesn’t give Sellers more buyer requirement conditions. Well, I do understand actually, it gives EBay more sales. Oh well. Just cancelled another auction due to the high bidder having zero feedback. TOO MANY ZERO FEEDBACK BUYERS ARE NON PAYORS.

It used to be that once you blocked a buyer, all identities of that buyer were blocked, but ebay, in it's infinite wisdom decided that the buyer could change names, come up with alts or make new accounts and could buy from the same sellers that blocked them.

My auctions are being taken over by 0 feedback buyers who do not pay. They are not afraid of a strike on their account. They will create another account or shop as a guest. I have been burned too many times in the past 3 months. My last deadbeat buyer, assured me they were a serious bidder. They were not. I have taken your advice and will start listing everything BIN. I am ready to leave the platform.

Yep. A shame.
