I changed the title on one of my listings, but it retains the original title. It only shows the new title when I click on something that says, "Show original title" I'm not sure why it keeps going back to the old one? I just listed it today. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Everything else changes just fine when I do a revision on the listing.

This has been happening to me also. This "Show Original Title" issue seems to be a Site Wide Problem. In addition I also cannot Revise my Titles once Posted. Not Sure what the Answer is.

HI!
Mine takes 10 minutes to have the title I want it to be show up.

Same here: I insisted they open a ticket and fix the problem. Even after a revision the title in my listing remains unchanged. But when I hover over "show original title" I can see my revision. So it appears the new "show original title" feature is actually showing the newly revised title. Now I have a bunch of messed up listings. The temporary solution is to be VERY sure your title is absolutely correct at time of listing. If you make an error the title can not be changed and your listing is basically ruined. Ebay...please fix this!

Here is how important listing changes are to eBay. The changes you make to quantity or anything in the title or description or price, etc. will not be seem to any Buyer for 24 to 48 hours. Now this process was in real time and any changes could be seem in seconds or minutes not that long ago. Not the case now. So eBay feels that your listing things correctly is of small importance. The trick they play on you is you check Seller Hub and see that that listing has been changed in real time, Seller Hub only. If you had wrong info in that listing and changed it and a Buyer purchased say an hour or two later they would be buying something that could not be correct. You as a Seller are still responsible for the wrong info, even though you changed it until eBay has corrected it in the 24-48 hour period. Yes you would get a defect or a return or both.
Last month I lost a $450 sale due to the slow update of a listing. I wanted to change the listing to free shipping so this Buyer could pay a negotiated price. I changed it and the Buyer was still having to pay shipping. Overseas Buyer and they passed on the sale thought they were going to have to pay shipping.
Many things on the platform are real time, however those are the things that eBay will make money off of. Anything to help the Seller sell is always an after thought for eBay. We have branched off into 4 other selling platforms having great success and a huge reduction of platform problems. I tell people eBay is now like 12% of our business and 90% of our problems.

Same thing happened to me recently. I edited the title. The edited version came up in the search, but when the listing was clicked on, it would revert to the previous title.

Just did a test on one of my listings with quantity and title. The title change is only visible under 'show original' but the quantity did update immediately. Hadn't noticed this slow update change though, thanks for the info.

Find your item in the eBay search bar at the top of the page and see if there are any changes.

I think it will eventually update. Pretty sure one of mine finally updated after a few hours. But since it's usually more of an issue for me when initially listing. I just end it and sell similar, correct it, and list it again.

Ebay is a big site and does not operate on Real time. With almost 2 billion active listings on the site, changes happening real time is unrealistic.
When I make a change to my listings for any reason, title, quantity or something else. I can see it if I click back into the listed after I've committed the changes but others will not, unless they too click into the listing.
It will take Ebay a little time to re-index your listing for the searches but know that if someone clicks into your listing, anything you have changed is there.

Funny how for the past 20 years my title changes would appear immediately and now that eBay has added a new "Show previous title" field the new changes appear immediately in the show previous field, but not the correct title field. Doesn't seem like an indexing problem to me.
My last "indexing" problem that took more than a day was when my Lawn Darts listing wouldn't display, and I wasted hours trying to resolve the problem. What happened: eBay blocked my listing until eBay verified I was selling the "Safety" Lawn Darts. Why should eBay let the seller know? Support told me to wait for indexing to complete - no mention the listing was being held for verification.

New eBay feature/bug "show original title" can force display of uncorrected title in listings and only display correct title in "show original title". Don't understand the purpose of this "feature". As a seller, I prefer not to display uncorrected titles that may encourage item not as described cases (whether as the main title or in the (show original title" field).
