Between Promoted Listings and search pulling results from item specifics. It's just a disaster.
eBay doesn't seem to care.
Sellers are figuring out that in order to be seen, they must resort to their own brand of search manipulation via keyword spamming. Yet, AI won't catch this if it's reported, and I'm seeing more and more of it every day.
Today's example, the item specifics for eBay item number 235366178306

Are any of those additional items false?

Probably? Not?
However, those are not Part Numbers for sure. And in one section of item specifics, there's a paragraph of mostly telling shoppers to call them, with their phone number listed in bold.
Just using Item Specifics for other than what it was intended.
I've seen far worse.
But as other sellers figure this out, Search results are going to get way worse.

They will probably fix this situation by charging for item specifics.

Ebay was great because you could search for what you wanted. Now I just get pages of ads. I find that I don't search on Ebay much anymore because I know I will only get paid ads that are NEVER what I need. When I search for postcards now Eternal Loot comes up taking over the whole page but I don't want their crap, I've already looked at it and rejected it once. I'm not going to buy their tired overpriced product that I am forced to see. Once their name shows up I stop looking, it means ebay has closed the search and is only returning paid planted ads.

When are we going to be able to block sellers that we don't want to see 🙂

Search is getting more frustrating by the day.
Although I sell a few jigsaw puzzles I occasionally purchase a new one I don't have for a disabled friend in assisted living. She prefers brightly colored large puzzles and has a table that fits a 2,000 piece one perfectly. Her friends there visit her for coffee and a bit of puzzle working daily. Good social activity for her.
A few days ago I typed 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle in search. The first 3 full pages shown were for 100 piece to 1,000 piece puzzles, a bunch of puzzle mats and some kind of glue. Two sponsored listings shown at the bottom of each of those pages were for 500 - 1,000 piece puzzles. There were 3 in the results on page 4 of search. Waste of time. Ridiculous.
I then changed my search to jigsaw puzzle 2000 piece and got pretty much the same results. Again, no 2000 piece puzzles until page 3. Then only 2 identical were shown.
Last search I typed 2,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Guess what I was shown? No 2,000 piece puzzles shown until page 4. Page 4!! Search did not produce the desired results whether the word piece or pieces was used. Nor when adding the brand name Buffalo Games.
And need I say, the few listings I clicked to view were covered in ads for 300 - 1,000 piece puzzles. Many Used even though my search specifics were for New.
Gave up and purchased one for her on another site. Sorry eBay sellers, I don't have hours nor the patience to to deal with this frustration.
No wonder nothing much is selling here.
Good luck to us all.

I've had the same experience in my searches.
A major complaint I've had is items being described as "Vintage," when they were manufactured yesterday to have an old vintage look.
It's frustrating that ebay allows this.

AIs are Automtaed Interfaces. There is no intelligence involved, but Big Corporate think syou can't put on your socks without an AI. And, it seems, most of the country can't.
