Thinking about strating dropshipping, should I use a different account ?

Hey guys

There's supplier in China that I purchased some items from for my business and thought to maybe start doing drop shipping from him.

My account it used to sell items which are in a different category and are not drop shipped.

I have another account I mainly use to buy  (and sell occasionally) private stuff.

Will it be better to use the second account to dropship ? I realize ebay knows I own both accounts.

My main account it very important to me and I don't want to risk it in anyway.

Yes it would be a good idea, even if you link the account there will still be new seller limits (but easier to get an intial bump).

I recommend that any "active" seller should operate a couple of id's, at least get an extra going and past the initial very low limits and payment holds. Especially true for a venture such as this because the level of service from Asian dropshippers can be variable, some are reliable but many are not and even if they do ship promptly delivery times are almost always an issue.

Try it out see how it goes, pull the plug on the idea BEFORE serious problems build up to the point that your seller performance is put the account at risk.

You cannot avoid all risk to your main acount.

You should understand that if your drop-shipping account gets suspended or banned, this affects your main account as well.  You are the one left holding the bag if your drop shipper runs out of product, fails to ship the items or otherwise screws your buyers.

Thanks, I realize that...that's why I will try to take it very slow and see how it works.

In case the drop ship account will get beow average, will this put my main account at risk ?

If your Drop Shipping account is suspended it will lead to suspension of your man account.
