Trying to refund a buyer a lousy $20 for my wife. My bank is the backup funding source. Looks like yet again ebay has made a change and now the refund system is broken. A quick search showed this has been going on since at least November 2019. And as usual, ebay's error message is as useful as their weekly buzz-worded chats and there is no documentation on the site that I can find.
Some suggested to transfer money into paypal which can take up to 5 days. The case must be resolved in 3 days. So I tried to refund the buyer directly from paypal. Unlike ebay, PayPal wants me to refund the tax portion out of my pocket.
I'm aware that CS is only through email now which is equivalent to putting a message in a bottle in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. I just want to process a simple refund. Does anyone have the new textbook or manual on how that is done now?
