The winning bidder is unable to make the payment

The winning (and only) bidder messaged me today after I sent an invoice. I'll quote what I was told.

"I seem to be blocked by some inimical agent from being accepted by PayPay and eBay will not accept any credit card for this purchase. How else can I pay you?"

What should I do about this? How can I get the payment for this listing if the credit card is denied?

The winning bidder is unable to make the payment

I see SO MANY posts about non-paying bidders.  It just boggles my mind why people still do auctions.

I went "buy it now" and "immediate payment required" years ago and have never looked back.

Your buyer isn't being honest with you.  If they have a valid credit card they could pay.  It doesn't sound like you are going to get paid, so lets move to protecting you and your account.  I know the money would be best, but it just doesn't seem this is going to happen.

Since this is a good chunk of money and if you are needing to get that in your pocket sooner rather than later, I would say do a cancellation, reason is Buyer's request or problem with their address.  Either one and it won't count against you.  Then once the cancellation goes through, you are free to list the item again.

Now you could file an Unpaid Item Dispute [UID] after 48 hours has passed since the purchase.  Then if the buyer doesn't pay, 96 hours after you opened it you can close it for non payment.  This is usually the route to take with non paying buyers.  But this is a good amount of money and chances are you need it as soon as you can get paid.

When you list it again, list it as a Fixed Price listing with IPR [immediate payment required].  That will stop this nonsense from happening because no one can purchase it until they submit payment for it too.  Research your pricing and make sure that $500 is a good price.  Adjust it up or down depending on what you research shows, then list it again.

Good luck.

I've seen other posts about people not being able to pay, so it may be ebay's latest glitch, and not the buyer's fault.

in February a buyer bought  a product I sold and I guess he couldn't use his debit  card  and he gave me a neutral!,   because of it.

Might be wrong, but it sounds like the buyer is setting you up to be scammed.

Have a great day.

Well, that's interesting, because I'm looking at that listing of yours and I see a full complement of accepted credit cards.

Your buyer is full of bologna. Tell him that you regret that you are unable to accept methods of payment outside of eBay (and that means No, you are not sending a PayPal invoice), and ask him if he would like to cancel. If he says Yes, do so as Buyer Requested. If he says No, resist being drawn into any further conversation, and file the Unpaid Item dispute as soon as you are able (Generally after 48 hours from end of auction or sale).

I had that happen to me a few times.  When I restart my computer, I am able to use my credit/debit card.  I don't know why but there it is.  Perhaps you should ask your buyer to try that.
